Using slices to create minimal rootdg

vxdctl add disk c0t0d0s4 type=simple

vxdisk -f init c0t0d0s4 type=simple
veritas already installed vxdg adddisk disk01=c0t0d0s4

You can now remove/move the remain disks from rootdg

vxconfigd –d ( if already started use vxconfig –m disabled)

vxdctl init
vxdg init rootdg
veritas installed but not vxdctl add disk c0t0d0s4 type=simple (ignore any error messages)
setup vxdisk -f init c0t0d0s4 type=simple
vxdg adddisk disk01=c0t0d0s4
vxdctl enable
rm /etc/vx/reconfig.d/state.d/install-db
