To the Department of Admissions,   

I am recommending Nicholas Alterio -a senior at Buckingham Charter Magnet High School in Vacaville, 
California- as a candidate for future academic programs and/or employment opportunities. 

Nicholas has been a student in my both my Photography and Graphic Design courses during the 15|16 
and 16|17 academic year. During that time period, Nicholas was an apt pupil and was committed to 
learning, both during studio time and during lecture. I have seen his interest and passion for 
photography in both his classwork and in his personal photography work which has progressed even 
further after his enrollment in my course. This is evident in his photographic work taken while in 
Guatemala with his family with which he won awards for. These awards included First Place for “Serene 
Guatemala” which was entered into the Fairfield Suisun City Visual Art Association 2018 Student Art 
Show, won Honorable Mention at the Vacaville Art Gallery Student Art Show in 2018, and again won 
Honorable Mention at the 2018 Solano County Office of Education Student Art Faire. 

My only wish is that our small school had a wider range of technical equipment and photographic 
opportunities with which he could have grown as a photographer, as he is very technically adept student 
and was always open to new photographic experiences. 

Nicholas is a very calm, quiet, good-natured, and intelligent student and very interested in working in the 
field of Technology and Computer Science. I am extremely confident in recommending Nicholas as a 
competent and hard working individual; please consider him a valid applicant and allow him any 
opportunity he may be applying for.
