Scientific programme

Scientific programme
This Congress will showcase a plethora of relevant topics in
the exciting field of Transfusion Medicine, from recruitment of
blood donors to the actual donation process, biology of blood
cells, preparation of blood components, transfusion-
transmitted infectious diseases, immunohaematology patient
blood management, adverse transfusion events, cellular
therapies, and much more. Follow the ISBT announcements
for more information about Workshops and special sessions,
such as the Young Investigator Breakfast Sessions.
The Local Day will be organised by the Canadian Society of
Transfusion Medicine and will focus on 200 years of
Transfusion Medicine. More information about the
programme of the Local Day, the ISBT Academy Day and the
parallel sessions will be made available on this page.

Simultaneous translation
On the Local Day (Saturday June 2) and Academy Day
(Sunday June 3) simultaneous translation will be provided for
French Canadians.

Young Investigators Breakfast

On Tuesday June 5, 2018 a breakfast is organized to
informally bring Young Investigators (under 40 years old)
together with Transfusion Medicine experts. The breakfast is
held in room 401 in the Metro Convention Centre, Toronto.
