My ideal dream job is to become a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager. The focus of this
job is to oversee the purchase, the acquisition/leasing of, the management, and expenses of commercial
properties which often includes helping to create floor plans and assess the value of the property to
include the previously mentioned. What draws me to this job, other than the large salary (132k-250k), is
the fact that I would be able to travel across the country and be my own boss. Growing up, I always
admired my father's job as an Entrepreneur because he is his own boss and he gets to do work on his
timeline. I learned the ropes of real estate by helping my dad fix up properties to sell at a profit. He also
taught me the ins and outs of managing properties that he owns, managing tenants which includes
evictions, borrowing and lending, and real estate in general. The qualification's required to become a

I believe that a college education along with my experience working with my dad, are necessary
for my dream job. The classes that I am currently taking, including this class, will set me on the path to
becoming a successful Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager because I will need to learn about the
accounting, marketing, legality, statistics, and time management skills that it takes to be successful
(htt8). As of now, my Learning to Lead and Business Management classes are a good starting point. As a
commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager, one must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and
time management skills. These are skills that cannot be quickly picked up on but must be acquired
I found an opportunity to work as a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager with TripAdvisor
located in Needham, MA. This will give me the opportunity to work with colleagues at 35 sites in 25
countries. With a starting salary of $132,000 per year, (htt7)which is $8,000 a month after taxes, I would
be able to rent a place in the home office located in Needham, MA. I would find a roommate to split the

living expenses so that I could afford a 2,000 a month apartment or condominium. I would also need
$800 a month for food, $300 a month for a car loan, $400 a month for gas expenses, $200 a month for
car insurance, $1,000 a month for medical insurance after I turn 26 years old, $800 a month for utilities,
and $1,000 a month for spending. I would also set aside $1,000 a month for a savings since I will not
have any college loans to pay as my I was blessed with parents that are paying for my college education.
I would be thrilled to do a job that I actually loved and live a comfortable life in Massachusetts.
