-200 years of glorious administration.

-For the 1st time Kalinga,Utkal,Kongoda and Kosala were brought under one political authority.

MAHABHAVAGUPTA JANMEJAYA-I (882-922AD )

-Crossed sword with the Bhanjas and killed it’s king Ranabhanjadeva.

-Defeated the Kalachauris of Dahala.

-Established Pritivi Mahadevi as queen of Bhauma-karas.

MAHASIVAGUPTA YAYATI-I ( 922-955 AD )

-Follwed a policy of expansion.

-Shifted his capital from Suvarnarekha to Vinitapura(near Mahanadi)

-15 years after, capital again shifted to Yayatinagar (Jaipur).

-He captured 32 elephants and rescued captured women from Kusala by Yuvaraja,

The Kalachuri king of Dahala.

-Satrubhanja was defeated by Yayati-I and he gifted him Gandhatapati mandala.

Bhimaratha Mahasivagupta-I (955-980AD )

-Odra and Kosala are Unified.

Dharmaraja (980-1005AD )

-Completely outthrow Bhauma Kingdom.

-Brahmesvara temple Inscription it is mentioned as the “second Parasuraman”.

-He carried his arms to Bengal and south.

Nahusa( 1005-1021 AD)

-Brother of Dharmaraja,very unpopular.

-Killed by Indra ratha, another brother of Dharma ratha.

Indraratha(1021-1023 AD )

-Appointed as the governor of Kalinga by Dharmaratha.


-Defeated by Rajendra Chola and probably killed.

Chandihara Yayati-II (1023-1040 AD )

-The ministers declared Yayati-II as the ruler,he was a lined descendent of Janmejaya.

-Yayati-II occupied Utkala and merged with Kosala.

-He have maintained friendly relations with Rastrakutas as during the period of Krishna-III.

-Patron of Brahmanism.

-Construction of Lingaraj temple at BBSR,which was completed by his Successor Udyotakesari.

-Brahmesvara flourished in Odisha.

Udyotakesari MAHABHAVAGUPTA(1040-1065 AD)

-Defeated Karna, the Kalachuri.

-Invaded Dahala and got Victory.

-Completed Lingaraj temple.

-Divided Kosala for better administration

ABOUT THE KINGDOM

-King shifted their capital from time to time due to political unrest.

-Ministers also have power,had a voice in the selection of a king as happened in case of Yayati-II.
-Kingdom was divided in several Mandals.
