Cognac

Bordeaux

Cognac is a small town located in Charente in the

southwest of France. The first vineyards appeared in
the region approximately two thousand years ago,
but it was not until the early 17th century that the
very first Cognacs were produced.
Cognac is a grape-based spirit bearing the AOC, a
Grande Champagne
Petite Champagne hallmark of quality. It is distilled from white wine
Borderies produced from specific grape varietals, mainly
Grande Champagne Fins Bois Ugni Blanc, but also Colombard and Folle Blanche.
Bons Bois
Petite Champagne
The Cognac vineyards stretch out over 6 regions
Borderies Bois Ordinaires
Fins Bois
known as “crus.” Each one has different terroir and
Bons Bois is recognized for specific qualities that help with
Bois Ordinaires grape quality, and therefore ultimately effecting the
Cognac.
The Bache-Gabrielsen cognacs are mostly made from
Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies and
Fins Bois regions.
