I am writing to express my interest in your job opening for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency
Department (Job #206230) at Winchester Medical Center. I will be graduating in December with
my Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Shenandoah University. As a new graduate, I am
eager to begin my career at Winchester Medical Center with its outstanding reputation.

As indicated in my enclosed resume, my clinical rotations exposed me to many exciting

opportunities which have allowed me to explore and work in various units throughout different
hospitals near Winchester, Virginia. This final semester, I am conducting my senior
preceptorship in the Emergency Department at Winchester Medical Center. This opportunity to
provide patient care and learn from your experienced staff has greatly increased my emergency
skills and provided me with a broader base of clinical knowledge. My time spent in your
emergency department has also solidified my desire to work in an emergency department for a
well-recognized hospital, such as Winchester Medical Center.

Similar to your mission statement, I also desire to improve the health of the diverse community
that I would be able to serve through employment at your facility. We live in a highly diverse
community where every individual is unique and has different perceptions about their health
based on their culture and beliefs. Being able to provide care for each unique patient is a joy and
a privilege because I will be able to meet the needs of many different cultures and values in order
to improve the outcomes of health in your hospital.
