(itasu)

Meaning: to do (the polite form of する)

You use いたす to say that you yourself will do something.

Formation:

する => いたします
お/ご + Verb-stem + いたします

Example sentences:

この仕事はわたしがいたします。
kono shigoto wa watashi ga itashimasu.
I ll do this job.

お席にご案内いたします。
oseki ni goannai itashimasu.
I ll take you to your seat.

荷物はわたしが来週の月曜日にお届けいたします。
nimotsu wa watashi ga raishuu no getsuyoubi ni otodoke itashimasu.
I ll send the luggage next Monday.

わたしは木村先生を６時までここでお待ちいたします。
watashi wa kimura sensei o rokuji made koko de omachi itashimasu.
I ll wait for teacher Kimura here until 6 o clock.

必要な教材のリストを同封いたします。
hitsuyou na kyouzai no risuto o doufuu itashimasu.
Please find enclosed a list of all necessary equipment.

新学期は九月五日に始まることをお知らせいたします。
shingakki wa kugatsu itsuka ni hajimaru koto o oshirase itashimasu.
I d like to inform you that the new school year will begin on September
the 5th.

飛行機の予約はわたしがいたします。
hikouki no yoyaku wa watashi ga itashimasu.
I ll book the airplane tickets.

５千円からお預かりいたします。３千円のおつりでございます。
gosen en kara oazukari itashimasu. sanzen en no otsuri de gozaimasu.
Here s your change of 3000 yen out of 5000 yen.

失礼いたします。
shitsurei itashimasu.
Excuse me.

買い物を暗くならないうちにお済ませくださいますようお勧めいたします。
kaimono o kuraku naranai uchi ni osumase kudasaimasu you osusume
itashimasu.
