Meaning: whether or not

Formation:

Verb-casual + かどうか
Noun + かどうか
いadj + かどうか
なadj + かどうか

Example sentences:

彼がこのプレゼントを喜ぶかどうか分かりません。
I don t know if he ll be happy about this present or not.
kare ga kono purezento o yorokobu kadou ka wakarimasen.

名前を書いたかどうか、もう一度チェックしてください。
Please check one more time whether you ve written your name down
or not.
namae o kaita ka dou ka, mou ichido chekku shite kudasai.

弱いかどうかとはまったく関係ない。
It has nothing to do with weakness.
yowai ka dou ka towa mattaku kankei nai.

田中さんが大学を卒業できたかどうか知っていますか。
Do you know if Tanaka was able to graduate or not?
tanaka san ga daigaku o sotsugyou dekita ka dou ka shitte imasu ka.

やるべきことはしっかりわかった。それができるかどうかが問題だ。
I knew what I had to do. It was doing it that was going to be the
problem.
yaru beki koto wa shikkari wakatta. sore ga dekiru ka dou ka ga
mondai da.

行くかどうか後で電話で知らせます。

iku ka dou ka ato de denwa de shirasemasu.
