Dear Director Nottestad :

I am writing to apply for the position of peer mentor for the 2018-2019 school year. TRIO has
benefited me so much over the past three years, that I want to help others benefit from TRIO.

As you will see from my attached resume and application, I love helping others. I know how hard it is
to be hundreds of miles away from home and walking into a brand-new place with no idea what is
going on.

I am a team player who is very outgoing and has a positive attitude. I am a good listener and I am
easy to talk to. I am dedicated and strive to help others and myself be the best person they can be. I
am respectful and I love to try new things.

I am a communication major with a focus in public relations and with this, I have the ability to write
and communicate. I also have worked in many positions where confidentiality is required and I
respect the importance of confidentiality. I also am proficient in Microsoft, Radius, and Adobe
software. I have had many different jobs that have prepared me for this experience as a peer
mentor.

Based on my above experiences, I believe I am a strong candidate for the peer mentor position. After
