General Information
Exterior Features
The all-new Chevrolet SPIN family is the first of a series of emerging market vehicles being
developed by GM’s Brazilian design and engineering operations. SPIN was exclusively
designed, engineered, executed, and validated at GM do Brasil in Sao Paulo, Brazil using GM’s
Global Vehicle Development Processes.
The Cobalt / PM7 conveys a sense of refined quality, while its structure, acoustic performance
and attention to detail proclaim it to be the most highly developed vehicle in its class. The
Cobalt / PM7 carries performance and refined executions for those who, to this point, have had
limited choices in a family sedan that combines upscale presence, and uncommon
spaciousness at a reasonable price point.
World class gap / flush relationships enable the smoothly integrated body surfaces to blend
natural layers of light into a rich and organized shape. The subtle accents created by natural
light enhance the timeless and lasting styling to convey a sense of affordable prestige.
The large headlamps deliver best in class lighting performance. The headlamps are
approximately 160 mm in diameter (6.3 inches). The headlamp housings stretch approximately
684 mm (27 inches) from lower to upper corners. The headlamp housings are integrated into
the forward corners of the vehicle with 1.5-mm gap/flush relationships between the fascia and
front quarter panels.
The thoughtful application of chromed finishes and “bright work” in the headlamps; grille
surrounds; fog lamp interior bezels (fog lamps optional) is evident from the front of the vehicle to
the tail lamps; and upper license box bezel.
An electrically operated outside rearview mirror contains two motors. The vertical motor
operates the mirror in the up and down directions, and the horizontal motor operates the mirror
in the left and right directions.
The outside rearview mirror uses a four position directional switch: Up, Down, Left and Right.
The mirror select switch is a two position switch: left, and right. The four positions of the
direction switch each have two switch contacts. Each of the contacts connect to opposing sides
of the appropriate power mirror motors through the selector switch. The selector switch
completes these circuits depending on the position of the selector switch, L or R.
The outside rearview mirror switch receives battery voltage. The power mirror switch also
receives a constant ground. If the selector switch is placed in the L position and the up switch is
pressed, battery voltage will be supplied to the left outside rearview mirror vertical motor through
the left mirror motor vertical control circuit and ground through the left mirror motor common
control circuit. If the down switch is pressed, battery voltage will be supplied to the left outside
rearview mirror vertical motor through the left mirror motor common control circuit and ground
through the left mirror motor vertical control circuit.
Placing the power mirror switch in opposing positions, left/right or up/down, will reverse the
polarity to the mirror motor, reversing the direction of movement.

Dimensions
With an overall length of 4479-mm (176.3-inches) and width of 1735-mm (68.3-inches), the
Chevrolet SPIN delivers the spatial first impression of a near-mid-size sedan. These dimensions
define the longest wheelbase and widest track in the vehicle category.

Interior Overview
Uncommon spaciousness & storage amenities, combined with refined execution, deliver a
passenger environment that is unequaled in its competitive segment. Tasteful accents
compliment finely finished surfaces to create a timeless and understated elegance in the
passenger cabin.
PM7 Interior
Storage is ample and designed to achieve a best in category rating. The storage areas consist
of generously sized front door map pockets; cup holders in the center console; map pockets
mounted on the seat backs for rear seat passengers; an upper IP storage bin; and a storage bin
forward of the shifter.
Rear Seating
The rear bench seat accomodates up to three passengers in the 2013 Chevrolet Cobalt. The
rear bench seat accomodates up to two passengers in the 2013 Chevrolet PM7. All seating
positions feature seat belts.
The vehicle is equipped with a 60./.40 split-back middle seat. The middle seat back is divided
into two sections: 60 percent of the seat back, and 40 percent of the seat back.
Smoker’s Package
An optional smoker’s package features an ashtray that fits securely into either one of the center
console cup holders. The package also includes a cigar lighter that takes the place of one
power outlet.

Transportation Mode
All vehicles are shipped from the factory in transportation mode. Transportation mode places
the vehicle control modules into a low power state. The low power state prevents normal
battery draws from draining the battery during vehicle shipping. If the vehicle is in transportation
mode, the battery light flashes when the ignition switch is in the RUN position.
The hazard flashers must be activated in order for the transportation mode to be set or cleared.
To turn off transportation mode and prepare the vehicle for normal operation, activate the
hazard flashers, start the vehicle and then hold the key in the crank position for 15 seconds.
If the vehicle will be stored for an extended period of time, the procedure can be repeated to
place the vehicle back into transportation mode.
