ABSTRACT

Sports development in the country seems to be struggling because of the lack of

infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Athletes who strive to compete from
competitions like Regional Meets and Palarong Pambansa affect their performance and
also in the medal standings. Hence, it is a hindrance to an athlete’s development to
improve and to train.

Cotabato City is one of the fastest growing cities not just in Mindanao but the whole
country as well. Tourism in the city splurges for the past five years. Yet there are no
major sports venues for local and national events. Thus, putting up a sports complex in
the city will benefit not just athletes but also the tourism industry of the city and to the
people of Cotabato and province of Maguindanao.

CLIENT : Tourism Infrastructure Economic Zone Atuhority (TIEZA)– with the city
government of Cotabato eyeing a special economic zone that could boost the city’s
economy and development of the nearby communities. TIEZA will endorsed and funded
the said ecozone.
