Over recent years we have seen the consolidation of task-based learning as a new way of teaching and learning foreign

languages.
Nevertheless, there are a series of practical issues related to its application which are still open to further developments. In this
paper, after a brief introduction of some basic principles, we discuss possible procedures for determining the tasks around which a
TBL syllabus is constructed, as well as for organising the teaching / learning process.
