To G.Donald Harrison who created the State Trumpet. FANFARE ALEC WYTON ‘The State Trumpet is a powerful antiphonal reed placed high on the west wall of the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, New York, under the rose window. If the Fanfare is played on organs without antiphonal divisions of similar character, the most brilliant and telling reed in the instrument should play the passages assigned to the State Trumpet. In this case the passages for the Tuba should be played on the Full Swell with the Great and Pedal remaining uncoupled to the Swell until the fff mark seven measures before the entry of the State Trumpet, AW.
