PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk or commonly known as MedcoEnergi is a company

engaged in the exploitation and drilling of oil and gas first in Indonesia. The company is one of
the business units of the Medco Group that oversees the energy field. Medco Group itself is a
company that has shaded several business units. And the head quarter of medco in The Energy
Building Jl. Jend. Sudirman Lot.11A Jakarta, Indonesia.

The development of MedcoEnergi until now is inseparable from the effort that was first
pioneered by the founder of MedcoEnergi. MedcoEnergi was founded on June 9, 1980 by a
young entrepreneur named Arifin Panigoro. In collaboration with his colleague Hertriono
Kartowisastro (now President Director of PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk.), He started to
engage in oil and gas drilling services. Oil and gas exploration and production began when the
company acquired Tesoro based in East Kalimantan in 1992.

MedcoEnergi continues to create the latest innovations in developing its business. In

2004, MedcoEnergi further expanded its upstream oil and gas activities by acquiring 100%
shares of Australian oil and gas companies operating in the United States, Middle East and
Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Novus Petroleum Ltd. In the same year, MedcoEnergi also
started to operate the LPG plant. Currently the company has been transformed into the most
integrity energy company in Indonesia. This is evidenced by the company's involvement in the
oil and gas exploration and production business, drilling services, methanol and LPG production
as well as the most recent of which is power generation. The company is also assisted by more
than 6,000 personnel who handle various operational activities around the world, namely
Indonesia, United States, Libya, Yemen, Cambodia, Oman and Tunisia. In addition the
subsidiary has operated 8 ground drilling rigs and 7 offshore drilling platforms as well as 2 deep
