Gait Predictive

Model

By: Lydia Maxon, Olivia Matheson, and Hannah Persky

How It Works
● Trendline shows relationship between leg length + gait

frequency -- greater length means lower frequency

● Can predict gait frequency (y value) from leg length (x value)

● Could find leg length by plugging gait frequency into y variable

and solving for x

● Make prediction points on model using trendline

Equation: y = -0.1166x + 6.164

X = leg length (inches) y = gait frequency (Hertz)
Testing Model and Accuracy
Data Table * Prediction Points Using the Equation: y = -0.1166x + 6.164

y = -0.1166 (44.5) + 6.164

How We Got Here Eight cycles

● calculated the gait frequency for each subject’s

trial

● divided the number of cycles (full step) by time

● frequencies then plotted on the predictive

model + a trendline was made

Four
● equation of the trendline predicts the gait Seconds
frequency based off of the person’s leg length

Frequency: 8/4 = 2 Hz
