Graduate Teaching Assistant, Sustainable Energy Business Models and Policy
ISE director Peter Fox-Penner teaches this course, PL851 in the Questrom School of Business this Fall. The course surveys businesses, technologies, policies, and business models in the main areas of clean energy, with a guest speaker from industry every week. The course meets at 6.30 pm Tuesdays. Qualifications: knowledge of clean energy industry business models and policies, knowledge of basic regulatory and business economics, very good organizational skills. 10 - 20 hours/week, fall 2018 only.
Communications Assistant, Project on the Global Clean Power Grid
The ISE is engaged in a program with China’s Global Energy Infrastructure and Development Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) and Columbia University’s Center for Global Energy Policy doing research on matters concerning the transition to sustainable energy platforms worldwide. This position is for a communications assistant who will generate slides, web and social media postings, and publicize research and events of the project. Qualifications include: (1) some knowledge of clean power technologies and policies and facility with clean power terminology; (2) skills in powerpoint, social media, and website management; (3) good skills in technical writing; and (4) experience organizing and managing events. 10 - 20 hours/week, full year position.
Project Coordinator for a Symposium Commemorating the Energy Research Group
The Institute for Sustainable Energy has a position for a graduate student in any BU school/college with good organizational skills and interests in current and historical energy policy and ecological economics. Qualifications: (1) good background in energy policy/ecological economics; (2) ability to organize and quickly summarize policy studies; (3) experience organizing events. A unique experience for students passionate about U.S. energy policy and ecological economics, including interacting with many of the leading world practitioners in these fields. 10 – 20 hours/week, full year position.
