Contract start rule – OVBS Rule table for date determination.

Contract end rule – OVBS Rule table for date determination.

Enter a date rule if you want the contract start date to be calculated by indirect date determination. So leave
the contract start date blank at the contract creation.

As soon as you enter the baseline date for the date rule in the contract, the system automatically defines the
contract start date on the basis of this date.

Validity period category

Enter a value here to indicate what kind of validity period the contract has (6 months, one year, and so on).
You can change the validity period defined for a contract in Customizing in the contract itself.

If the actual validity period of a contract differs from the validity period category, the system issues a warning
message.
