I am very excited to be applying for a position at the Winchester Medical Center. I heard about the
open position from fellow employees at the Medical Center.

I have an anticipated graduation date of December 2018, from Shenandoah University. I have
acquired entry level nursing skills as well as critical thinking skills during my schooling. I have had
the opportunity to do clinical hours at the Winchester Medical Center. I am currently in my senior
preceptorship in the Labor and Delivery unit at the Winchester Medical Center as well. I am
currently employed at the Winchester Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and have
been employed there for over three years. I also was selected for the Nurse Externship Summer of
2018, where I gained tremendous experience and skills while floating through many departments of
the facility.

I believe if I am hired for this position, I will be able to learn and grow into an outstanding nurse. It
would be an honor to be hired where I have grown in my medical skills. I am impressed with the
facility and its values and mission of ‘Serving Our Community by Improving Health.’ I have learned
a lot from guest speakers in nursing classes about Magnet recognition. It would be an amazing
accomplishment to work for a facility that is Magnet certified and includes nursing staff in planning.
