ECONOMY AND ECOLOGY IN FOCUS

The signs of the times are unmistakable

Investors, plant engineers, planners, and architects no longer

ask “whether” but “how” they can enhance the degree of sus-
tainability of their plants and building management systems.
Each building is unique. Its location, size, construction quality,
and increasingly the building management system determine its
value and profit. The energy state of a building has gained
appreciably in significance here: it is a fact that buildings con-
sume around 40 percent of the world’s energy, and produce
21 percent of global greenhouse-gas emissions. The proportion
of the energy costs in the “second rent” for users and residents
is constantly increasing.

Where the heating, cooling, cleaning, purification, humidification and dehumidifi-

cation of air are required, DencoHappel makes its contribution to progress. Customised
climate control and air treatment, with the maximum-possible reduction in energy
consumption over the entire life cycle of the facilities: this all pays out handsomely in
euros and cents, in comfort, and in staff productivity. Our solutions reliably comply with
all international standards in highly sensitive areas such as hospitals and cleanroom
applications. They likewise set new standards for sustainability and flawless system
integration in advanced sports arenas, production facilities, airport buildings, and
swimming pools – as well as in offices, museums, and hotels.

TECHNICAL QUALITY

The one who processes air must master it

It is due to the precision work that has gone into the develop-
ment of the hardware and software that our air treatment can
neither be seen nor be heard, provides pleasant experience and
helps in avoiding wastage of energy and money.

Can a building with large glazed areas be heated during spring and autumn on its DencoHappel
north side and cooled on its south side, with only one system and without having to stands for:
switch on the central heating? Does a system used, e. g., for heating cooling, humidi- • Tailor-made air quality and
fication and dehumidification in pharmaceutical or electronic industry also protect a healthy, comfortable room
against dirt and bacteria? Can investors and building owners calculate the life cycle climate with extremely
costs of a central plant air handling unit, determine the effect of an energy-saving noiseless operation
equipment on the operating cost for this purpose and thus select the optimal efficiency • Maximum energy efficiency
class right in the configuration stage of the plant? and reduction in the CO2
emission
DencoHappel has found answers to these and many other questions concerning air • Precise central and decentral
treatment and climate control – and has implemented them in solutions which reflect control and regulation
its experience gained in many and various successful applications. The core proposal • High adaptability to most
consists of a broad spectrum of central and decentral air treatment plants, separators diverse functions and
and filter plants up to complete clean-room systems. Their function, control and design environments
can be fine tuned to their task, the condition and infrastructure of buildings, the • Easy system integration
operating cost calculations and the highest standards of energy efficiency and climate • Durability and high degree
protection. State-of-the-art control technology developed in-house permits the of availability at low
individual control in individual rooms just as it permits the central handling in the maintenance costs
context of building management system.

Control unit, which has interfaces to all usual systems of the building automation,
provide for the trouble-free integration of the devices into the building management
system. The fact that planners and users can implement their own desires at the design
stage of the plant itself is the proof of the precision work involved in the air
conditioning equipment.

intelligent control technology

Just the right turn for

the right room climate with the MATRIX

If requested, the proven MATRIX control unit will be

integrated into the MultiMAXX at the factory. Your
benefit: only completely tested equipment will be supplied
to your construction site.

MATRIX is available in configuration levels 2000, 3000, or 4000,

with adaptation to the various possible applications. Most of the
versions are provided with the MATRIX.Net dualcable bus system
as default, through which all MATRIX units can communicate
with each other. As a result, it is simple to implement daytime
and nighttime switching actions, and to control pumps and
collect error messages at a single point. MATRIX can also be
connected to higher-level bus systems.
Comprehensive control possibilities:
• Control functions in various expansion stages In addition, MATRIX assures energy-optimized operation of the
• Bus interfaces to other equipment units MultiMAXX. By means of the summer compensation function,
• Plug-and-play functionality MATRIX takes into account outside-temperature influences and
• Energy-optimized equipment operation therefore prevents energy-intensive climate control.
• Equipment ready to operate
• Highly competent service Hardware and software are developed entirely at DencoHappel.
• Global add-on modules As a result of close collaboration in the company, DencoHappel
• LON interface engineers can systematically adjust the control system to match
• Service tools every component – and in turn optimally exploit the possibilities
of the units. DencoHappel support staff also profit from this
arrangement by being able to quickly and expertly react in case
of any questions.

Numerous additional global modules are available as function

expansions of the standard-version local connections of the
MATRIX control system. Examples here are: intra-group operator
panels and clock modules, modules for activation control of
exhaust-air fans and chillers, expansion of analog or digital input
and output signals, 0 … 10-V outputs for valves, and integration
into a LON bus system in accordance with the LonWorks
standard.

All modules can be simply integrated via the MATRIX.Net bus

system. In addition, the service tool MATRIX.PC can be used for
parameterization, initial startup, maintenance, and data
recording from the MATRIX control system.

MultiMAXX®

Unit series HN – HS – HX – HE

With a complete program for each area of opera-

tion, the MultiMAXX system satisfies requirements
placed on decentral air handling by users in trade,
commerce, and industry. The HN and HX ranges
furthermore make cooling operations possible via
a 2-conductor change-over function: for both wall
and for ceiling installation.
