I bled and bled and blood—

It was running and spilling,
Seeping and killing;

Killing by its absence.

Like air devoid of oxygen,
I’m rendered useless without it.

I watch the red escape,

Unintelligible thoughts flickering by.

What do you expect?

A fight?
A prayer?

No.

A surrender—
A release into the unknown,
A shift to unmarked grounds.

Spinning blues,
Blinks of white and black—

Black.
It heightens as the red rivers run.
And run they do, away from me;
And me away from all of you.
