REACTION PAPER ABOUT FEDERALISM

As what I know about federalism or my knowledge about it, Federalism has positive and
negative “sides”. But if at the top of it is corrpted or not doing their job well or fairly it will not
count what type of Government is it.

But first, there are the states. The states are empowered to make their own decision, like the
taxes or what they have to do in their territory. They do not have to ask for permission to the
Government on what to do or what to change and for me that is an advantage. For example in
our country, if all the states have to ask for permission for everything in the Government, there
can’t be different cultures between those regions and that can affect also our “main” source of
economy, the tourism. There will be less tourist spot for us and less cultural things that the
tourist may want to see like the festivals or their costumes.

But if there are advantages, there are also disadvantages. It can lead to division or competition
between ethnic groups or states that can change the present country. Another example is the
division of the economics or money. It can be an advantage to those states that earn a littlte big
more than the others because they’re big or “famous” that can bring tourism which means more
incone and more part from the Government for them , but what about those little states that
doesn’t have the proper ”capacity” to earn even the exact amount of money for them to have a
vigorous state? In filipibo: “Sariling kayod”.

But for me, even if it is federalidm or somethinh else, if those at the top of the Government do
not do their Job properly or fairly all the sacrefices of the states, the people including us, in the
end it will not count nothing because they are the one that will benefit of it.
