The Success of Missouri Schools

Missouri State Test Scores for the Lincoln County R-3 school district are higher than
surrounding school districts, according to the Missouri Department of Elementary and
Secondary Education.

According to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education online


results the Lincoln County R-3 School District has higher scores in subject areas such as
Biology and English.

“A good group of teachers took time to help students when they were struggling to make
sure they were ready for the test,” said Ms. Kasey Davis English Teacher at TBHS.

English E.O.C. scores in the proficient range were higher by 13% compared to the
Winfield R-4 School District, according to the DESE.

This isn’t the only subject area the Lincoln County R-3 School District scored higher in
they also scored higher in their Science Department compared to Winfield R-4.

“We hold our students to a very high standard and this makes our students have to
critically think just like on the test, classes like PLTW Biomed helps also prepare our students
for the E.O.C. tests as well,” said Whitney Schuenemeyer, Biology Teacher at TBHS.

Science proficiency scores from the biology E.O.C. tests were higher than Winfield R-4
School District by 3.5%, as well as the advanced test results according to DESE.

This was not the only subject area that the Lincoln County R-3 School District scored
higher proficient E.O.C. scores in. They also scored higher in the advanced areas of the
Mathematics E.O.C. According to DESE.

Mathematics advanced E.O.C. scores were % higher than Winfield R-4 School District.
Students enrolled in the Lincoln County R-3 School district believe that these higher scores are
based on the curriculum the school district provides.

“Some ways my math teacher helps prepare for the E.O.C. in order for me to be
successful would be review in class, take the practice test and gives us extra practice
worksheets,” said Wu Ferguson, student at TBHS.

Lincoln County R-3 School District sees that their high standards for their students
contributes to the success of their state testing results. Their students can see based on their
test scores how their school is succeeding compared to surrounding Missouri schools.
