1. To avoid/ dangerous climate change, we are going to cut carbon dioxide emissions rapidly.

2. The way to cut or reduce the emission, we could use zero-emission vehicles.
3. Zero-emissions vehicle/ is a vehicle/ that doesn’t produce any harmful gas/ unlike
conventional vehicles. It could be a battery-electric vehicle or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle.
4. In the Ohio State University, AJ Khamphee’s university, they launched hydrogen fuel-cell
buses/ in their own university.
5. And recently, Germany rolls world’s first hydrogen-powered trains in the northern area of
Germany.
6. Moreover, Singapore plans world’s first hydrogen-powered airplane to take off by 2025 as
well.
7. The hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles are a promising technology in the present and near future
because they don’t emit water as a byproduct instead of CO2.
8. Therefore, a large amount of hydrogen is required to power these engines.
9. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting is a promising approach to generate hydrogen
gas by absorbing solar energy which is very clean energy.
