ABSTRACT:

In non-linear optics, a well-known research line is that of RA-NHG (rotational

anisotropy nonlinear harmonic generation) where a crystal is rotated perpendicular
to the normal to its surface and the second harmonic signal is measured. Then, it is
possible to separate the contribution of the susceptibility tensor in its isotropic part
and in its anisotropic part. Therefore, it is of interest to the community to know what
an isotropic tensioner is and how to calculate it for any range, in particular examples
are provided of rank one to four obtained with two different methods. Their different
representations are also reviewed and the difference between matrix and tensioner
of rank two, which very commonly generates confusion between the students and in
general the people novel in these themes, is cleared. it is also shown that the
isotropic tensors in general are not diagonal, a mistaken belief originated in the fact
that the isotropic tensioner of rank two has the same components as the matrix
identity. Finally, as part of the discussion in the Cartesian space of three dimensions,
the components of a rotation matrix are given in terms of isotropic tensors.
