I am writing to express my interest in a substitute teaching position, within the district. I learned of this
position through teachers at my current student teaching placement at Madison Place Elementary School.
I would be an excellent fit for this position given my background in Elementary Education during my
time in Pittsburg State University’s College of Education and my time in the classroom.

Spending my internship semester during the spring of 2018 in Webb City Missouri in a first grade
classroom. I was given the opportunity to apply my skills as an educator. I spend the next summer
teaching summer school in Belton Missouri in a second grade class. I was able to teach two sessions of
summer school and apply my skills as well as learn more about myself as a future educator and what I can
continue to improve on. I was able to plan lessons, schedules, and a well thought out classroom
management plan. Now finishing up my student teaching at Madison Place I am able to learn by
observing and trying out many strategies provided by the district and by fellow teachers throughout the
building. Being provided with excellent feedback and guidance along the way.

In regards to the position at hand I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to apply my current
knowledge and experiences and to interview and discuss my qualifications in more detail as well as
