Applications in the prescribed format given below are invited from Indian Citizens and such other nationals as are
declared eligible by Govt. of India for recruitment to the undermentioned posts. Posts at Serial. No. 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 , 10, 12,
13, 14, 15 ,16, 19, 20 ,22 ,23 ,24 25, 26, 27 are permanent. All other posts are temporary (likely to be permanent). The number
of vacancy may increase.

N.B. : ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN BENGALI IS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR
RECRUITMENT TO ALL POSTS AND SERVICES MENTIONED BELOW. PROVIDED THAT THE SAID
COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN BENGALI IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR NEPALI
SPEAKING CANDIDATES FROM THE HILL AREAS OF THE DISTRICT OF DARJEELING. THIS WILL BE

1. DIRECTOR OF DRUGS CONTROL, WEST BENGAL UNDER DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND FAMILY
WELFARE, GOVT. OF W.B. - ONE

PAY: Rs.37, 400/- - Rs. 60,000/- plus Grade Pay Rs.8,700/-

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential : (i) Graduate in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or in Medicine with


specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Micro-biology from a University established in India by Law. (ii)
Minimum five years’ experience in the manufacture or testing of drugs or enforcement of the provisions of the
Drugs & Cosmetic Act, 1940.

AGE: Not ordinarily below 35 years or above 45 years on 01.01.2010. The upper age limit is relaxable in case
of those who are already in permanent Government Service or those who are exceptionally qualified.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POST OF PRINCIPAL: Essential: (i) Master degree (M.Sc.) in Nursing, (ii) Ten
years experience of which a minimum of five years teaching experience in a School of Nursing or a College of
Nursing duly recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and any State Nursing Council, (iii) Knowledge of Bengali

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POST OF PROFESSOR: Essential: (i) Master degree (M.Sc.) in Nursing, (ii) Ten
years experience of which a minimum of five years teaching experience in a School of Nursing or a College of

(ii) Ph.D. / M.Phil. in Nursing.

NOTE (for all the posts): The term ‘experience’ shall mean working experience in a Block Primary Health Centre
level or above under the employ of a State Government or Central Government, or working experience in any other
clinical Establishment having not less than 150 beds or Nursing teaching experience in a School of Nursing or

papers (iii) Knowledge of Bengali – Spoken and Written.
Desirable : (i) Doctorate Degree in Marine Science, (ii) Administrative Experience, (iii) Expertise on Crafts &
Gears, catching of fish in deep sea, Maryculture & knowledge in Marine Biology.

4. POSTS IN FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY, WEST BENGAL IN W.B.G.S. UNDER HOME (POLICE)
DEPARTMENT

(A) ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (BALLISTICS) - ONE

PAY: Rs.9,000/- - Rs.40,500/- plus Grade Pay Rs.6,600/-

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) Second Class Masters’ Degree in Physics/Mathematics or equivalent, (ii) Seven
years’ experience of analytical methods and research.
Desirable: Experience of work in a recognized Forensic Science Laboratory.

AGE: Not ordinarily more than 40 years on 01.01.2010, relaxable for candidates otherwise well qualified and
experienced.

(B) SENIOR SCIENTIFIC OFFICER (PHYSICS) – TWO (ONE RESERVED FOR SC CANDIDATES)

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) Second Class Master’s Degree in Physics or equivalent, (ii) Five years’
experience of analytical methods and research, or (a) degree in Science having Physics as one of the subjects or
equivalent (b) Seven years’ experience in Forensic Physics.

Desirable : Experience of work in a recognized Forensic Science Laboratory.

Age : Not ordinarily more than 35 years on 01.01.2010, relaxable for candidates otherwise well qualified and
experienced.

5. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICES (TRANSPORT), WEST BENGAL IN WEST BENGAL


GENERAL SERVICE UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE – ONE.

PAY: Rs.9, 000/- - Rs.40, 500/- plus Grade Pay Rs.5, 400/-

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) A degree in Mechanical Engineering with Automobile Engineering as a special
subject or a degree in Automobile Engineering or equivalent qualification, (ii) Five years’ experience in Automobile
Engineering in a Government Transport undertaking or in a private motor transport organization of repute . The
period of experience may be relaxed at the discretion of the Commission in the exceptional circumstances.
Desirable: Administrative experience in management of personnel.

8. INSPECTING OFFICER, ELECTRICITY DUTY IN THE DIRECTORATE OF ELECTRICITY UNDER FINANCE


(REVENUE) DEPARTMENT GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL – FIVE (ONE EACH RESERVED FOR SC &
ST CANDIDATES)

Pay : Rs. 9,000/- - Rs.40,500/- plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.

Desirable : One year’s Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience.

Age : Not more than 32 years on 01.01.2010 provided that in the case of candidates who are already in the
employment of the Central Government or the State Government or the Damodar Valley Corporation or any other
statutory organization recognized for the purpose by the Government or who had been in such employment but
are out of such employment for not more than one year on the said date, the age limit shall be relaxable to the
extent of actual period spent continuously in such employment.

9. DISTRICT PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING OFFICER IN WEST BENGAL GENERAL SERVICE – ONE

Pay : Rs. 9,000/- - Rs.40,500/- plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) B. Sc. (Hons) degree in nursing or a Bachelor degree in any discipline with
general nursing midwifery diploma from a recognized nursing Council and also a diploma/certificate in public
health nursing from a recognized Institute (ii) Five years’ experience in Community Nursing out of which 3 (three
years) must be in rural Community;
(iii) Good power of expression in Bengali – spoken and written.

Desirable : (i) Post-Graduate qualification in any discipline of nursing or any post graduate diploma in Health
Education (ii) Any training in Family Welfare Programme extended by any state government / central
government recognized Institute.
(iii) Extensive touring experience covering Maternity, Child Health and Family Welfare Programme in rural areas.
Age : Not more than 40 years on 01.01.2010, relaxable for persons already in government service.

QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) Diploma in Homoeopathy or the qualification of a recognized University or


Institute as included in the Second Schedule of the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973.

Desirable : (i) Adminstrative experience. (ii) Six months’ experience as Medical Officer in a recognized
Homoeopathic Institution or Hospital.

Note : Candidate must be registered either in Part ‘A’ of the State Register of Homoeopathic Medical Practitioners

QUALIFICATIONS : Essential : A Second Class Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Physics from recognised

of Document examination.

Desirable: Experience of work in a recognised Forensic Science Laboratory.

conducting Socio-economic Surveys/Investigations and Treatment of Statistical data among the Tribal people and
Scheduled Castes particularly in West Bengal and neighbouring areas; iii) Knowledge and experience in editing
and proof reading for publishing Journals, Bulletins etc. of an educational or research Institute/Govt. office.

Desirable: i) Evidence of having published papers on different aspects of Socio-economic problems in West
Bengal and neighbouring areas; ii) Administrative experience in an educational or research Institution or a
Government Office; iii) Knowledge of Tribal language spoken in West Bengal.

21. ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT (NON-MEDICAL) under the Department of Health & Family Welfare

QUALIFICATIONS : Essential : i) Madhyamik Examination of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its
equivalent examination; ii) National Trade Certificate from Industrial Training Institute in the trade of Draftsman
or its equivalent; iii) 3 (three) year’s practical experience in Civil Engineering Drawing works.

INFORMATION

2. The qualifications prescribed in the advertisement are as per the notified recruitment rules issued by Government.
