1. Vorgehensweise und Überblick

Diese Anleitung beschreibt die Netzwerkinstallation für COSIMIR®

Professional und COSIMIR® Industrial. Bitte lesen Sie die Anleitung
vollständig.

Es gibt zwei Hauptmöglichkeiten der Installation

• auf einem vernetzten Rechner
• auf einem lokalen Rechner (Heimbüro oder unvernetzter Rechner)

Die Netzwerkinstallation dient ausschließlich zum Einrichten des

Lizenzservers. Die Installation der Software kann auf allen Rechnern
erfolgen, die im Netzwerk vorhanden sind.

Die Netzwerklizenzierung erfordert in jedem Fall einen Lizenzserver, an

dem der Lizenzstecker angeschlossen und die Lizenzserver-Anwendung
immer gestartet sein muss, damit das Programm ausgeführt werden
kann.

Die Datei SETUP.EXE auf dem Installationsmedium startet die

Installation der Software. Im Ordner Network befinden sich zwei weitere
Setup-Dateien NETSETUP.EXE und LICSETUP. Erstere dient zur
Installation des Lizenzservers. Die weitere Setup-Datei installiert ein
Lizenzverwaltungsprogramm.

2. Netzwerkinstallation – Begriffe und Möglichkeiten

Lizenzvergabe Der Begriff Netzwerkinstallation bezieht sich in erster Linie auf die
Lizenzvergabe der Software, die hier über das Netzwerk und einen
zentralen Lizenzserver abgewickelt wird. Diese Lizenzvergabe kann für
alle TCP/IP-Netzwerke verwendet werden. Dies trifft auf alle gängigen
PC- Netzwerke zu.

Lizenzen Die Lizenzen werden dynamisch vergeben und können von beliebigen
Arbeitsplätzen bis zur Maximalanzahl angefordert werden. Beim
Schließen der Software an einem Arbeitsplatz wird die Lizenz sofort
freigegeben, bei einem Ausfall nach kurzer Zeit automatisch. Die
Lizenzsituation kann jederzeit mit dem Lizenzverwaltungsprogramm
(COSIMIR® Dongle Checker) überwacht und ggf. bereinigt werden.

Lizenzserver Der Lizenzserver ist ein Rechner im Netzwerk, der nebenbei die
Windows Lizenzvergabe abwickelt. Dieser Rechner kann ein beliebiger Windows-
PC im Netzwerk (Windows 95 bis Windows XP) sein.

Voraussetzung, um die Lizenzen für vernetzte PCs nutzbar zu machen:

• Die Lizenzvergabeanwendung muss zur Laufzeit des Programms
gestartet sein ("Lizenzserverprogramm aktiv")
• Der Lizenzstecker an diesem Rechner muss zwingend ständig
gesteckt sein.
• Der Lizenzserver muss für die Benutzerrechner permanent verfügbar
sein.

3.1 Zum Start der Installation müssen Sie NETSETUP.exe starten. Sie
Start der Installation wählen zunächst die Sprachversion der Installation aus.

Bestätigen Sie Ihre Auswahl mit OK.

Im nächsten Dialog werden Ihnen die Lizenzbedingungen angezeigt,
denen Sie zustimmen müssen, um die Installation fortzusetzen.

3.2 Wählen Sie den Pfad für die Installation.

Dann legen Sie die Programmgruppe fest.

Im nächsten Dialog erhalten Sie die Option, den Lizenzserver in Ihr

AUTOSTART Verzeichnis zu legen.

Jetzt kann der Installationsablauf gestartet werden.

3.3 Bei Start von COSIMIR® auf einem Netzwerk PC sucht die Anwendung
Der Lizenzserver nach dem Lizenzstecker auf dem Lizenzserver. Dazu muss der
Lizenzstecker vorhanden sein, und der Lizenzserver muss gestartet sein.
Bei größeren Netzen kann es am Anfang wenige Sekunden dauern bis
der Lizenzstecker gefunden wird.

Zur Prüfung des Lizenzsteckers benötigen Sie den COSIMIR® Dongle

Checker. Diese Programm können Sie mit LICSETUP.exe installieren.
Das Programm ist nur in englisch verfügbar.

4.1 Sie können den COSIMIR® Dongle Checker auf einem beliebigen
Installation des Rechner im Netzwerk installieren.

Sie wählen den Installationspfad und die Programmgruppe.

Dann folgen Sie den weiteren üblichen Anweisungen zur Installation.

4.2 Starten Sie das Programm COSIMIR® Dongle Checker. Sie erhalten
Prüfung des folgende Dialogbox:

Klicken Sie auf Connect , um die Kommunikation zum Lizenzstecker zu

starten. Sie erhalten dann z.B. folgende Information in der obigen
Dialogbox. Mit Disconnect kann die Kommunikation wieder gestoppt
werden.

Lizenzanzahl In der obigen Statusanzeige erhalten Sie

• die Statusinformation mit welchem Lizenzstecker Sie verbunden
sind,
• die Adresse des Lizenzservers
• die Anzahl der Lizenzen, die gegenwärtig in Benutzung sind,
• die maximale Lizenzanzahl.

Serveradresse Mit Save haben Sie die Möglichkeit, die Adresse des Servers zu
speichern. Die Daten finden Sie im INI-File COSIMIRCbnetServer.INI in
dem Installationsverzeichnis des COSIMIR® Dongle Checker. Kopieren
Sie diese Datei in das BIN-Verzeichnis Ihrer lokalen COSIMIR®
Installation. Dann sucht COSIMIR® beim nächsten Start direkt den
Lizenzstecker an der vorgegeben Adresse.

Beachten Sie aber, dass sich die Adresse des Lizenzservers dann nicht
ändern darf, andernfalls wird der Lizenzstecker nicht erkannt.

Optionen Im Anzeigefenster Dongle Options erhalten Sie die Information, welche

Produktversionen von COSIMIR® auf Ihrem Lizenzstecker freigeschaltet
sind. Mit Mausklick auf Details erhalten Sie eine Liste aller
Funktionsoptionen angezeigt:

Prüfung des Im unteren Dialogbereich wird Ihnen die aktualisierte Prüfung des
Lizenzsteckers Lizenzsteckers angezeigt. Gegebenenfalls erhalten Sie bei Problemen
eine Meldung, die Sie mit OK bestätigen können.

1. Approach and overview

These instructions describe the network installation of COSIMIR®

Professional and COSIMIR® Industrial. Please read the instructions
carefully before starting.

There are two possibilities for installation:

• On a networked computer
• On a local computer ( home office or computer without network
access)

The network installation only establishes the license server. The

installation of the software can be established on any computer being
available in the network.

Network licensing requires in any case a license server where the

license connector is plugged in and where the license server application
must always be started to allow execution of the application.

The SETUP.EXE on the installation medium starts the installation of the

software COSIMIR®. The network folder contains two other setup files
NETSETUP.EXE and LICSETUP.EXE. The first one establishes the
installation of the license server. The other one establishes the
installation of a license administration program.

2. Network Installation – Terminology and Features

Licensing The term network installation primarily refers to licensing of the

software via the network and a central license server. All TCP/IP-
networks can be used. This applies to all commonly used PC networks.

Licenses Licenses are awarded dynamically and can be requested by any

workstation up to the maximum number. When the software is exited at
one workstation, the license is immediately freed up. It is also freed up
automatically after a short period in the case of a fault. The license
situation can be monitored and modified at any time with the license
administration program (COSIMIR® Dongle Checker ).

License server The license server is the computer in a network that carries out licensing
Windows in addition to its normal tasks. This computer can be any Windows-PC in
the network (Windows 95 to Windows XP).

The following conditions must be met for licenses to be usable for

networked PCs:
• The licensing application must be started at application runtime
• The license key must always be installed at this computer.
• The license server must be permanently accessible to the client
computers.

3.1 Open the network folder and start NETSETUP.exe to start the
Start of Installation installation. At first, select the language.

Confirm your selection by OK.

Next dialog shows you the license agreement. You have to confirm in
order to continue the installation process.

3.2 Select the destination folder for your installation.

Select the program manager group.

The next dialog asks you whether the license server should be started at
system setup.

The installation process can be now started.

3.3 After start of COSIMIR® on one of the networked PC , the client PC is

server must be started and the license key must be available at the port
of the server.
In case the network consists of many PCs it might happen that this first
communication takes a few seconds.

The program COSIMIR® Dongle Checker allows you to monitor the

license key. Installation will be established by LICSETUP.exe.

4.1 You can install the COSIMIR® Dongle Checker on any networked PC.

4.2 Start COSIMIR® Dongle Checker. Following dialog box will be opened:

Click on the button Connect to start the communication to the license

key. Following information will appear. By clicking on the button
Disconnect the communication can be stopped at any time.

Above status display provides following information:
• Address of the license server
• Number of licenses in use
• Maximum number of licenses
By clicking on the button Save the TCP/IP-address of the server will be
saved in the file COSIMIRCbnetServer.INI you will find in the destination
folder of the COSIMIR® Dongle Checker. Copy this file into the BIN-folder
of your local COSIMIR® installation. At the next start of COSIMIR® the
license key will be immediately detected.
Note that the address of the server will be not changed. Otherwise the
license key will not be detected by this approach.

4. The License Key

Options The Dongle Options window provides the information which product
version of COSIMIR® is activated by your license key. By clicking on the
button Details a list of all function option will be shown. By an
additional sign +/- it will be indicated whether this function option is
activated in this product version.

Check the License Key In the lower dialog box the permanent checking of the license key will
be monitored. In case of errors , you will get a message which should be
confirmed by you in order to continue.
