Podcast Discussion

Directions:
1. In groups of 3 or 4 you will create a podcast.
2. You will discuss how Hitler, Mussolini, and Hirohito came to power and how that
affected their countries.
3. Using the information from ​Lesson 1​​ and ​Unit Resources​​ please be sure to answer the
following questions in your discussion:
- How did the Treaty of Versailles (1919) contribute to the economic crises in
Germany and Italy?
- How did economic crises in Germany, Italy, and Japan lead to new rulers?
- In what ways were Hitler and Mussolini alike? How were they different?
- How does Hirohita compare to Hitler and Mussolini?
- What did the citizens of Germany, Italy, and Japan think of their new
governments?
- Would you consider 1930’s Japan Fascist?
4. Discussions should last between 5-10 minutes.
5. Each group member must contribute at least 1 minute of discussion minimum.
6. A script is not necessary but it may help you organize your thoughts and ideas.
7. Be sure to add appropriate background music and image to your podcast.
8. When finished creating your podcast, publish it and email the link to me.
