and patient confidentiality policies require patient’s information to be protected. Practice

guidelines from both policies include the need to keep the communication between a nurse and a

patient confident. Also, patients are free to file complaints to criminal justice systems if nurses

and other clinical stakeholders from a particular center fail to provide reasonable precautions to

intruders who risk accessing unauthorized patient information.
