The purpose of this newsletter is to keep members updated on current activities, work and decisions that are taking place in the community and at the Board table. Thank you on behalf of the Board of Directors. General eting (GMM) ~ Sund: The GMM was held on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 11:00. am, ‘at Consideration Co-op, 22 Beatrice St E, Oshawa, ON. Thank you to all members who attended. Below is a summary of the proceedings: 1. The 2019 Operating and Capital Budgets were approved. 2. Ahousing charge increase of 2% was approved, effective January 1, 2019, as per the notice sent out. 3. The new Fire Safety Policy wos passed/approved and is now in effect. 4, The new Cannabis Policy was passed/approved and is now in effect. 5. An update of the Prepayment/Refinancing was provided by Patrick Davidson; 6. Anupdate on capital works, including the entrance doors (on-going), kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, etc. was given by Cliff Gould. FRIENDLY REMINDERS Office Hours! Tuesdays - 10am to 2pm Wednesdays ~ 2:30pm to 6:30pm Fridays- 10am to 2pm Entrance Doors! Installations are proceeding. However, the weather has not been co-operating so progress has been slow. The Co-op asks for your patience. You will be called or advised in writing of your installation date. Winter is Coming Please make sure you tum off your outside tabs. Let them drain after you turn off the shut off value. If you need assistance, please contact the office. Volunteers Needed! Financials/Parking Ledger For your review, please find attached the financial statements for September 2018. For your review, attached please find the parking ledger as at November 7, 2018. Notices When notices are in coloured paper, that means they are important and you need to read them! If you have any questions about a notice sent to you, please feel free to contact the office. Volunteers if You are interested in joining a committee - Building, Entertainment, Newsletter, or Parking - please email the Co-op at cordova_co-op@rogers.com — and indicate which committee you would like to join. Your name and contact information will be given to the person who chairs that committee. High School students are encouraged to volunteer as well as it counts towards their 40 hours. Volunteers are also needed to distribute notices and newsletters to the Co-op. Snow Now that the winter has arrived, please remember, itis your responsibilty to shovel the sidewalk in front of your unit and fo keep your walkways clear. Garbage Bins A friendly reminder- if your bag breaks, please clean up the mess eft. Also, please ensure that, if you send your child to put the garbage in the bin, they are able to physically throw it into the bins. Also, when you are placing your garbage in the bins, please do so as quietly as possible. Do not toss or “basketball” the bags into the bins as this creates a great deal of noise for the units that live near the bins. Please also remember to place recycling in the appropriate bin and not on the ground. If your garbage bag breaks, please clean up any mess created. It should not be left for other members to do so.
