ABSTRACT Methods are presented for calculating aerodynamic interference loads on aircraft components. The report treats wing-tail interference, effects of stores and effects of en- gines. In the first part, a simple method is proposed for cal- culating the load distribution on the tail in the presence of wing and fuselage. Next, a modified image method is de cribed for calculating interference loads of wing-body-store combinations. The last part deals with the aerodynamic in- terference effects on lifting surfaces in the presence of either a propeller slipstream or a jet slipstream. General effects of small flow disturbances on aircraft loads are also con- sidered briefly. iii SECTION 1 1 m1, Vv, CONTENTS PAGE INTRODUCTION. . een WING-BODY-TAIL INTERFERENCE. A, INTRODUCTION B.
