These scholarship award funds will then be applied to your tuition, fees, and other outstanding educational expenses, and will disburse to your student tuition account for spring semester 2018. In the event that all your tuition costs have been paid, Income Accounting will refund any excess funds to you. This scholarship award Is contingent upon the qualification criteria, as follows: 1) You must be a full-time student for the duration of the aforementioned award period. 2) Ifat any time you become ineligible for this scholarship, as described in your acceptance letter, we reserve the right to rescind our offer and you will be responsible for paying back any funds that have been dispersed to you. 3) Its your responsibilty to report any outside funding or scholarships to the University of Utah, as those must be taken into consideration when offering your additional awards. 4) Asa scholarship recipient, you are required to compose a heartfelt formal letter of thanks and sincere acknowledgement to the donor of your scholarship funds. This item of etiquette is non- negotiable. The donor of your scholarship award is giving you the gift of financial assistance with your education and as the recipient of such a generous gift, this matter of etiquette is of great importance and must be genuinely acknowledged by you. Additionally, you will be invited to attend the fall Scholarship Luncheon (date to be determined) to accompany the donor of your scholarship funds to lunch and thank him or her, personally. Students receiving scholarship, fellowship, or any other financial aid funds administered by the University of Utah, must adhere to Utah State law and certify that they are eligible to receive such scholarship funds as @ U.S. citizen, or a citizen of another country but lawfully present in the U.S. If students are not certain as to whether or not their stay in the U.S. isa lawful stay, they should seek the advice of an immigration attorney prior to accepting this award. Prior to disbursement of any type of scholarship, fellowship, or financial aid, the University of Utah is required by federal law to verify the legal citizenship status or lawful presence in the United States with the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), a federal agency retaining the legal right to share the information provided by the University of Utah to other federal agencies.
