penggunaan alat medis melalui saluran kemih.
inap rawat inap bedah, interne, kelas utama dan VIP RSU Mayjen H.A Thalib
Kerinci dengan jumlah 65 orang. Sampel diambil dengan cara Purposive
Sampling dengan jumlah 40 orang responden. Pengumpulan data dilakukan
kejadian infeksi saluran kemih (p-value = 0,011).
infeksi saluran kemih
.

ABSTRAC
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is the most common infection found in health care,
this infection is 80% of the results of using a urethral catheter, and every day a
catheter is installed which increases 5% of the bacteria in the urine. The
incidence of urinary tract infections in hospitalized patients is the most common
type of nosocomial infection (35-45%) due to catheter use or use of medical
devices through the urinary tract. The purpose of this study was to determine the
relationship between the length of catheter insertion and the incidence of urinary
tract infections in patients who had catheters inserted in the General Hospital of
Mayjen H.A Thalib Kerinci 2018.
The type of this research is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional study
design. This study was carried out on 18-24th September 2018, with the
population being all catheter patients who were inpatient at surgery, interne,
primary class and VIP of the General Hospital of Mayjen H.A Thalib Kerinci
about 65 people. Samples were taken by purposive sampling with a total of 40
respondents. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and
observation sheets. Data were analyzed by computerization, then analyzed using
univariate and bivariate with Chi-Square Test with a significance level of 0.5%.
The results of the study showed that more than half of the respondents (65.0%)
who had a catheter length with a short category, more than half (70.0%) had no
occurrence of urinary tract infections in patients who had catheters attached. Chi-
Square test results obtained there is relationship between the length of catheter
insertion and the incidence of urinary tract infections (p-value = 0.011).
Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is a significant
relationship between the length of catheter insertion and the incidence of urinary
tract infections in patients who had catheters inserted in the General Hospital of
Mayjen H.A Thalib Kerinci 2018. it is expected that nurses can pay attention to
sterility in the installation and treatment of catheters in patients especially in
patients who wears a catheter for a long time. Good installation procedures and
catheter care procedures can reduce the risk of patients developing urinary tract
infections.
