Dear Hiring Manager,

I am very enthusiastic in applying for a registered nurse position at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
I am a senior nursing student at The University of Arizona (UA) and will be graduating this December
2018. I am planning on moving to Winston-Salem in the near future to be closer to my family. My
brother is currently a resident at your facility and has shared many positive remarks concerning working
for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. I truly believe my clinical experiences and skills are strong
assets and are well suited for the requirements of the position.

While at the UA, I have successfully completed clinical rotations in several facilities throughout Tucson,
AZ. I have learned to perform comprehensive assessments, inclusive of the patient’s physical and
psychosocial concerns. Accordingly, I document their findings accurately and in a timely manner, which
has assisted me in strengthening my time management and organizational skills. During my
preceptorship, I took care of up to five patients with my preceptor and delegated and communicated with
members of the healthcare team to provide patient-centered, high quality care for the veterans. Outside
of my clinical rotations, I have gained further experience by providing one-on-one home-based patient
care to individuals by working as their direct caregiver. By working one-on-one with these individuals, I
have broadened my direct patient care abilities and have honed my skills in establishing a therapeutic
nurse-patient relationship.

My clinical instructors and preceptors have noted that I am a great team player and conscientious in
prioritizing the needs of my patients and families. I am a lifelong learner who reflects on my
experiences, strengths, and weaknesses to further develop becoming the best nurse that I can be.

I am looking forward to an interview at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to learn more about the
nursing position and demonstrating that I am an excellent candidate for this role. Thank you very
