Literature 475 (English Literature) that we are doing with

current grade 9 does not have a compulsory course work component.
 In 408 Candidates produce 2 written assignments – One Critical Essay (25%), One Empathetic Essay (25%) and
One Recording of a conversation with a teacher on Literary/stylistic/Thematic aspects of a studied text (15%).
There is no provision of coursework in Literature in 475. A complete list of prescribed texts for each Assessment
is given. Coursework forms a mandatory 50 percent of the overall grade and the two written papers form the
other half of the
 In 408, it is advisable to select texts from the prescribed list only and not go for IGCSE consultation to choose a
book beyond the list. There are no such options in 475.
 In 408 Paper 2 is 1Hr and 15 mins.(Candidates answer one question from a choice of 2) and Paper 3 is One hour
and 30 Mins. Candidates answer two questions: one question from each section. They may answer both of their
questions on the same set text, or on two different texts.
 The assessment objectives of both 475 and 408 are similar with only some pronounced differences. This means
