In “Why People Don’t Help in a Crisis” by John Darley and Bibb Latane was about
research being done to see why people react to a crisis the way that they do while in a group
versus the way they do by their self's. They found that there are three things that a passerby has
to do they have to notice that there is an emergency, interpret that it is an emergency, and finally
they have to decide if they have the responsibility to help. They also found that a single person
was more likely to notice that there was an emergency. In a group the people are more worried
about what everyone else is doing and how they are acting.
