Although, the website features an interactive game, the purpose of the game is to teach about spending and help develop empathy. This would be most effective for students that are in older grades because they will need the appropriate decision-making skills to analyze the options and really put themselves in the position to understand what it ‘would feel like, This would be appropriate for students with learning disabilities. ‘Addresses the following transition needs: This website focuses on tough situations that are unpredictable which you wouldn't expect yourself to be in until you are stuck. The game gives different scenarios that could happen post-high-school. Students will gain more insight into how to prioritize their career, healthcare, finances etc. while caring for their family or themselves. Other features: Throughout the game, students are given different scenarios and options giving them the chance to choose what they fee like would be best for themselves and thelr family, Each time you make a decision, the game shows how much money is being taken out of your funds and how much you have left. This game is extremely beneficial because it helps develop empathy and teaches the students of different tough financial decisions that could be put on their plate as an adult. Evidence/Research/Promising Practices: There is very limited research on whether an interactive website like Spent is an effective tool for students with learning disabilities. When scanning through Evidence-Based Practices and Research Practices, they suggest real job placements to teach students about earning and spending money.
