Final Project Proposal

For my final project, I want to take photographs that challenge a woman’s typical role

throughout each decade. Whether it be through what the scene is depicting the woman do or

inconsistencies with the time, I believe this project could be fun and bright but also make a

statement on women’s rights to show that we have come far but we have even further to go. I

believe I would use studio lights that I own, but also some tungsten light. I will be taking pictures

at different locations, most of them occurring in my apartment. I have a few image ideas that

would occur outside or in public buildings, but many of them will be limited to where I live. I am

excited for this project to push me to create better portraits and work with color in a way where I

get to decide exactly what colors are in and out of the photo and what color palette is used. It will

be different than the street photography we have been doing where it is all color that we find on

the street. I’m excited to challenge myself with this project.
