EVE STEWART

PRODUCTION DESIGNER WHO’S WHO


• Eve Stewart is a British production designer born
in 1961. She originally worked in theatre,
studying at Central Saint Martins but later
trained in film. After that, she debuted as a set
designer in director Leigh’s film Naked in 1993.
Also, Stewart got a Masters in Architecture from
the Royal College of Art before training in film.
• Her first award nomination was in 1999 for the
Academy Award for Best Production Design.
Stewart has won many awards such as the
BAFTA Award for Best Production Design and the
the Creative Arts Emmy Award.
• After Naked, Stewart served as the art
director in Secrets & Lies, Career girls and
Topsy-Turvy. She then became the set
designer for New Year’s Day, Saving Grace
and Sorted.
• She started collaborating with director Tom
Hooper in 2005, working on Elizabeth I, The
Damned United, The King’s Speech, Les
Misérables, and The Danish Girl. Stewart
also collaborated with director Leigh for
three more times, their final collaboration
being in 2004 in Vera Drake.
• Eve is a now a four times Oscar-
nominated and Bafta-winning production
designer.
