Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by dengue virus infection or DEN-1,

DEN-2, DEN-3, or DEN-4 that transmitted through mosquito bites. DHF is an endemic disease in a tropical
climate, because the tropical climate is very supportive for the breeding of these mosquitoes. The cases
of DHF in Kartasura District in 2016 increased 75% to 116 cases from the previous year, 38 cases. Looking
at these data, health problems that occur are very interesting to explore using one of the geographical
approaches, namely spatially. This study will make a spatial model based on cases of dengue disease to
find out the center of grouping of disease cases and also the factors that influence it. Using the Hot Spot
Analysis technique (Getis-Ord Gi *) and the overlay technique (intercropping) among hot spots with
population density and settlement density. The purpose of this study was (1) to find out the dengue
fever hotspot with 2016. (2) to analyze the effect of population density, and settlement density on cases
of dengue disease in Kartasura Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency in 2016. The method used was descriptive
method. The results of the study show that (1) Hot spots and cold spots of dengue hemorrhagic fever
are caused by a grouping of dengue fever, can be seen in table 5.1. (2) The results of overlaying spatial
variations created between population density and dengue hot spots are influential but not large
because there are several points of hot spots and cold spots that are not suitable, compared to the
number of incompatibilities that occur with population density the density of settlements only has 1
coldspot which is not appropriate, then the conclusion that can be obtained is that the density of
settlements has a large effect compared to population density in DHF cases.
