Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the hot rolled steels used for general structure such as bridges, ships, rolling stocks and other structures (hereafter referred to as “steel product”). Remarks! The standards cited in this Standard are given in Attached Table 1. 2. Grade and symbol The steel product shall be classified into four categories and their symbols shall be as given in Table 1. Table 1. Chemical composition The steel product shall be tested in accordance with 7.1 and the cast analysis values thereof shall be as given in Table 2. Mechanical properties The steel product shall be tested in accordance with 7.2 and the yield point or yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and bendability thereof shall be as given in Table 3.
