Shri Mangu Singh has taken over Managing Director of

prestigious Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd on Jan 01, 2012


from Dr E Sreedharan, an iconic personality among Indian
engineers who transformed the Delhi’s transport sector through
metro.

Shri Singh Graduated in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee


(formerly University of Roorkee) in 1979 and Master of Science
(Sustainable Development) has joined Indian Railways Service
of Engineers (IRSE) officer in March, 1983 and worked with Dr
Sreedharan in the Kolkata Metro project.

Shri Singh joined DMRC at the inception stage in November 1997 and has been playing key role
in developing the Metro system in Delhi. He is also instrumental in assisting State Governments
in developing Metro systems in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata
East-West Line etc. any more cities are to follow.

His experience includes, Rail based Transportation Projects, Planning & Execution. Procurement
of works and services for Mega Projects on Design and Built Contracts basis, multilateral
funding agencies, development of bid documents for Metro Projects on PPP basis, Management
of Concession Contracts. He has also headed the successful Clean Development Mechanism
(CDM) Projects of Delhi Metro, the only successful Projects in Railway Transportation Sector in
the world. Shri Singh is recipient of National Award (Railway Week Award 1996). He has
Published/Presented many technical papers in National and International Journals/Conferences
etc. He is Member of many Technical Institutions and President Tunneling Association of India.
He is also on the Board of Directors of Kolkata Metro East-West Line as representative of Union
Government.
