Dear Human Resource Manager:

I am applying for the Teacher: EC-6 Generalist position which I saw posted on your
district website. I will be graduating in May 2021 from the University of Houston - Clear Lake
with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. With my good organizational and
communication skills along with my volunteer and student teaching experience, I feel I am well
qualified for this position.
In addition to my formal education and student teaching at Elizabet Ney Elementary, I
volunteered for Kids Kollege, a summer youth enrichment program, where I assisted and helped
teach skills to students aged 6 to 12 years old. I have experience teaching both kindergarten age
and second grade students. As a second-grade student teacher I created and implemented my
own lesson plans. While I taught all subjects as a student teacher; however, I have more
experience in teaching mathematics. I believe this makes me a good fit for your district.
I chose your district because I like the size of the district because it is similar to what I
attended. Since I am a very organized person, I would easily be able to maintain records required
by both the state and the district. My good communication skills will help when conversing with
other teachers and staff when planning instructional goals. These same communication skills will
also help me interact with students and their parents.
I would appreciate an opportunity to talk to you about teaching in your district.

Respectfully,

Jennifer L. Harmond
