 Mission: Mahiakalo Child Development Centre is committed to advocate

for children by facilitating holistic development through support and
mentorship to enable them to attain self reliance and execute Christian
virtues.
 Over 300 sponsored children
 Attend the project once a week
 Lessons: physical, cognitive, socio-emotional, & spiritual development
 Skills: mat making, beadwork, carpentry
 Talents: sports, dance, drama

but lack in academics
 Caregivers are uninvolved in
their children’s school life
Goal & Objectives

 Goal: To help Mahiakalo Child Development Centre students and

their caregivers understand the importance of academics and
saving for higher education while connecting them to alumni of
the program
 Objectives:
1. Create an education scheme for the caregivers while empowering
them to prioritize their children’s academics
2. Encourage students to focus on academics along with their talents by
connecting them with alumni from Compassion
3. Educate the 12-22-year-olds about computer literacy

 RapidTyping program added to computers
Sustainability

 Madam Ephel, Project Director, and the Church Partner Committee will
continue the education scheme meetings once a month
 Madam Ephel will stay in contact with alumni to start mentoring program
 Computer teacher will continue lessons once a week
