‫أخطاء شائعة في الترجمة العربية‬

‫إن الترجمة حين يتولى أمرها من ليس أهل لها‪ ،‬فإنها تجر في أذيالها آثارا سألبية ل تخطئها العين‬
‫المبصرة‪ .‬ونحن هنا بصدد ذكر أمثلة على ما تحدثه الترجمة المتعجلة السأيئة من آثار سألبية على أسأاليب‬
‫الكتابة العربية‪ ،‬وشيوع ألفاظ في اللغة ليسأت من طبيعتها‪ ،‬وذلك مما يرد كثيرا في الصحافة العربية‬
‫والذاعتين المسأموعة والمرئية‪ .‬من ذلك مثل‪:‬‬
‫أول‪ :‬إضافة أكثر من مضاف إلى مضاف إليه واحد‪ .‬كالقول‪ " :‬احتدام واشتداد القتال "‪ .‬والصواب في‬
‫ذلك‪ " :‬احتدام القتال واشتداده "‪ ،‬وهذا يعني إضافة مضاف واحد إلى المضاف إليه‪ ،‬وإضافة المضاف‬
‫الخر إلى ضمير يعود على المضاف إليه الول‪.‬‬

‫ثانيا‪ :‬تأخير الفاعل وتقديم ضميره عليه‪ .‬كالقول‪ " :‬في تصريح له عن الحوال المنية في الخليج‪ ،‬قال‬
‫وزير الدفاع المريكي ‪ ." ...‬والصواب في مثل هذه الحالة أن يقال‪ " :‬قال وزير الدفاع المريكي في‬
‫تصريح له عن الحوال المنية في الخليج إن ‪." ...‬‬

‫ثالثا‪ :‬جمع عدد من السأماء المعطوفة في جملة واحدة‪ ،‬وذلك دون أن يتبع كل منها بحرف العطف " و‬
‫"‪ ،‬كالقول‪ " :‬ذهب أحمد إلى المكتبة واشترى كتبا‪ ،‬أقلما‪ ،‬صورا‪ ،‬دفاتر "! وهذا أسألوب ل يصح الخذ‬
‫به في العربية لما في من فجاجة وعجمة‪ ،‬حتى ولو أخذت به لغة أخرى كالنجليزية‪ .‬إذن فالصواب في‬
‫المثال السأابق أن نقول‪ " :‬ذهب أحمد إلى المكتبة واشترى كتبا وأقلما وصورا ودفاتر "‪.‬‬

‫رابعا‪ :‬التخفف من اسأتعمال المفعول المطلق في الترجمة‪ ،‬ليحل محل كلمات أو عبارات أخرى مترجمة‪،‬‬
‫مثل‪ " :‬بصورة – بشكل – لدرجة – على نحو "‪ ،‬كالقول‪ " :‬مشيت بصورة جيدة "‪ ،‬و " سأار بشكل حسأن‬
‫"‪ ،‬و " إن قامته طويلة لدرجة أنها تسأد الباب "‪ ،‬و " ظهر على نحو واضح "‪ .‬وهذه كلها اسأتعمالت بعيدة‬
‫عن العربية‪ ،‬والصح منها أن يقال‪ " :‬مشيت مشيا جيدا "‪ ،‬و " سأار سأيرا حسأنا "‪ ،‬و " إن قامته طويلة‬
‫طول يسأد الباب "‪ ،‬و " ظهر ظهورا واضحا "‪ .‬أي اسأتعمال المفعول المطلق للدللة على الحالت التي‬
‫ذذكرت‪.‬‬

‫خامسأا‪ :‬تصبح الترجمة في مقدمة السأباب التي تعمل على إشاعة أخطاء إذا قام بها من يترجم ترجمة‬
‫حرفية‪:‬‬
‫) أ ( فمثل يسأتعمل البعض كلمة " ضد " وهي ترجمة حرفية لكلمة ‪ against‬في اللغة النجليزية‪.‬‬
‫فيقال‪ " :‬حارب ضد السأتعمار "‪ ،‬و " ينبغي أن يسأعى الباء لتلقيح أبنائهم ضد الجدري "‪ ،‬و " صدر‬
‫حكم ضد فلن "‪ ،‬وغير ذلك‪ .‬وينصب العتراض على أن السألوب الذي يلجأ إلى اسأتعمال هذه الكلمة‪،‬‬
‫هو أسألوب يخالف طرق التعبير العربية‪ .‬فالقول أن " فلن يحارب ضد السأتعمار " ذيفهم منه أن هذا‬
‫المحارب مخالف للسأتعمار‪ ،‬أي أنه يحارب في جبهة أخرى غير الجبهة المعادية للسأتعمار‪.‬‬
‫والصواب في ذلك القول‪ " :‬شن حربا على السأتعمار "‪ .‬وبالنسأبة لبقية المثلة‪ " :‬يجب تلقيح الطفال من‬
‫الجدري "‪ ،‬و " صدر حكم بحق فلن أو عليه "‪.‬‬
‫) ب ( ومن الكلمات التي تتداولها أجهزة العلم الجنبية‪ ،‬كلمة ‪ cover‬النجليزية‪ .‬فيضع لها المترجم‬
‫الكلمة التي يحددها القاموس‪ ،‬وهي " يغطي "‪ .‬ولكن في العربية ل يفيد هذا الفعل معنى نقل الخبر‪ .‬ففي‬
‫القول‪ " :‬قام مراسأل جريدة الهرام بتغطية أنباء القتال الدائر في منطقة الخليج "‪ .‬ليس هناك علقة بين‬
‫الغطاء أو التغطية وبين الخبار‪ .‬وتضع معاجم اللغة أفعال غير هذا الفعل لدللة نقل الخبر‪ ،‬فتقول‪" :‬‬
‫نقل الخبر أو أبلغه أو سأرده "‪.‬‬
‫) جـ ( ومن الكلمات التي يسأاء اسأتخدام ترجمتها‪ ،‬كلمة ‪ reach‬بمعنى يصل‪ .‬فعند وصف حدث‬
‫وصول إحدى الشخصيات الرسأمية‪ ،‬يقال‪ " :‬وصل مصر مسأاء أمس وزير القتصاد في دولة الكويت "‪.‬‬
 ‫وهذا السأتعمال خاطئ‪ ،‬لن الفعل " وصل " بالنجليزية متعدد‪ ،‬أي يحتاج إلى مفعول به‪ .‬ولكنه في‬
‫العربية لزم‪ ،‬ل يتعدى‪ .‬فهو بذلك ليس بحاجة إلى مفعول‪ ،‬بل إلى حرف الجر " إلى "‪ .‬فنقول‪ " :‬وصل‬
‫إلى مصر مسأاء أمس ‪." ...‬‬
‫) د ( ومن تلك الكلمات‪ ،‬كلمة ‪ via‬بمعنى رعبرر‪ ،‬فيقال‪ " :‬عبر أجهزة التصال "‪ .‬والكثر صوابا من‬
‫ذلك أن تقول‪ " :‬بأجهزة التصال " أو " بواسأطة التصال "‪.‬‬
‫) هـ ( ومنها أيضا كلمة " طبقا " المترجمة عن كلمة ‪ ،according‬فهي ترد في أمثلة كثيرة‪ .‬ومن ذلك‬
‫مثل القول‪ " :‬سأيتم نقل السأرى يوم الحد طبقا لوكالت النباء "‪ .‬أما اللغة العربية فل ترضى باسأتعمال‬
‫" طبقا " في مثل هذا الموضع‪ ،‬وإنما تتطلب اسأتعمال الكلمة الصحيحة لهذا الوضع‪ ،‬وهي " وفقا " أو "‬
‫وفاقا " أو " على وفق "‪ .‬فنقول‪ " :‬سأيتم نقل السأرى يوم الحد القادم وفقا لما ذكرته وكالت النباء "‪،‬‬
‫هذا إذا أردنا التمسأك بحرفية الترجمة‪ .‬ولكننا نسأتطيع ذكر عدة جمل تؤدي المعنى بصورة سأهلة‬
‫واضحة‪ ،‬فنقول مثل‪ " :‬ذكرت وكالت النباء أن السأرى سأذينقلون يوم الحد القادم "‪.‬‬

‫سأادسأا‪ :‬ترجمة كلمة ‪ cancel‬بكلمة " لغيا "‪،‬كالقول‪ " :‬يعد التفاق لغيا منذ مسأاء اليوم "‪ .‬وينصب‬
‫العتراض على كلمة " لغيا "‪ ،‬فهي اسأم فاعل من الفعل " لغا – يلغو "‪ ،‬أي كثر كلمه‪ .‬ولكن السأياق‬
‫الذي ذتذكر فيه كلمة " لغيا " ل شأن له بكثرة الكلم أو قلته‪ ،‬بل بإبطال اتفاق مسأبق‪ .‬ولذلك فيجب‬
‫اسأتعمال كلمة " ملغي "‪ ،‬وهي اسأم المفعول من الفعل " ألغى – يلغي "‪ .‬فالصحيح إذن أن يقال‪ " :‬يعد‬
‫التفاق ملغيا منذ مسأاء اليوم "‪.‬‬

‫سأابعا‪ :‬والبعض يترجم كلمة ‪ still‬بكلمة " ل زال "‪ .‬فيقول‪ " :‬لزالت الجتماعات منعقدة في مجلس‬
‫المن "‪ ،‬ويقول‪ " :‬لزالت الجهود تبذل لصلحا الوضع في لبنان "‪ .‬وهذا اسأتعمال خاطئ لكلمة " ل‬
‫زال "‪ ،‬فهي تفيد الدعاء ل السأتمرار‪ .‬يصح أن يقال‪ " :‬ل زالت الديار قوية عزيزة بأهلها "‪ ،‬فهو دعاء‬
‫للديار بدوام القوم والعز‪ .‬أما ما يفيد السأتمرار فهو " ما زال "‪ ،‬كأن نقول‪ " :‬ما زالت الجتماعات‬
‫مسأتمرة "‪ ،‬و " ما زالت الجهود مبذولة "‪ .‬وكثيرا ما يختلط المر على من يقومون بالكتابة العربية‪،‬‬
‫فيأخذون بالسأتعمال الول للدللة على الثاني‪.‬‬

‫ثامنا‪ :‬وهناك كلمة ‪ by‬التي يترجمها البعض " ممن مقرببل "‪ ،‬ويدخلونها في الجمل دون اسأتئذان‪ ،‬على الرغم‬
‫من عدم صحتها‪ .‬فيقال‪ " :‬ذدونت الملحظات ممن مقرببل اللجنة "‪ .‬وليس في اسأتعمال " ممن مقرببل " أي‬
‫ضرورة في هذا السأياق‪ ،‬ذلك أنه يمكن القول‪ " :‬دونت اللجنة الملحظات "‪.‬‬

‫تاسأعا‪ :‬وهناك كلمة شاع اسأتعمالها شيوعا خاطئا‪ ،‬فل تكاد تخلو منها جملة‪ ،‬وهي كلمة " بالنسأبة "‪ ،‬التي‬
‫يمكن التخلي عنها دون حدوث أي إخلل في الجملة‪ ،‬فضل عن أن اسأتعمالها يخالف السأتعمال العربي‬
‫السأليم‪ .‬فيقال مثل‪ " :‬انخفضت أسأعار العملت‪ ،‬وبالنسأبة للمارك اللماني فقد انخفض مقابل الدولر "‪.‬‬
‫وهذا تركيب غير صحيح للجملة‪ ،‬فأي نظرة للقاموس تدلنا على أن " النسأبة " هي القرابة أو ما تعلق بها‪.‬‬
‫ومن هنا فالصواب أن يقال‪ " :‬انخفضت أسأعار العملت‪ ،‬أما المارك اللماني فقد انخفض مقابل الدولر‬
‫"‪.‬‬

‫عاشرا‪ :‬أما عن الخلط بين حرفي الجر " إلى " و " اللم " ‪ -‬عند ترجمة حرف الجر في النجليزية ‪to‬‬
‫‪ -‬فهو كثير‪ ،‬رغم أن لكل منهما معنى واسأتعمال مختلف‪ .‬أما عن المعنى‪ ،‬فهو أن " إلى " تعني انتهاء‬
‫الغاية‪ ،‬في حين تسأتعمل " اللم " للدللة على الملكية والتخصيص‪ ،‬ويتحدد اسأتعمال كل منهما تبعا‬
‫للمعنى الذي تدل عليه‪ .‬يقال مثل‪ " :‬سألمت الملف كامل إلى رئيس مجلس الدارة "‪ ،‬وهذا غير صحيح‪،‬‬
‫وصوابه‪ " :‬سألمت الملف كامل لرئيس مجلس الدارة "‪ .‬والسأبب أن الملف سأيوضع تحت تصرفه‪ ،‬كأنه‬
‫ملك من أملكه‪ ،‬ولم يكن الغرض سأفر الملف من مكان معين ابتداء إلى مكان آخر انتهاء‪ .‬ويقال أيضا‪:‬‬
‫" سأافرت صباحا الجمعة الماضي للسأكندرية "‪ ،‬وهذا غير صحيح أيضا‪ .‬والصواب القول‪ " :‬سأافرت‬
‫صباحا الجمعة الماضي إلى السأكندرية "‪ ،‬لن حرف الجر " إلى " في هذه الجملة يحدد انتهاء الغاية من‬
‫السأفر‪.‬‬
‫حادي عشر‪ :‬الصرار على ترجمة بعض الكلمات النجليزية بكلمة واحدة مقابلة في اللغة العربية‪ ،‬مثل‬
‫كلمة ‪ ،privatization‬والتي وضعت لها ترجمات عدة‪ ،‬مثل‪ " :‬الخصخصة " أو " التخصيص " أو‬
‫التخصيصية "‪ .‬وهذه كلها ترجمات غير دقيقة للكلمة‪ ،‬ذلك أن اللغة النجليزية تميل دائما لسأتخدام‬
‫الزوائد ‪ – affixes‬سأواء كانت بادئة أم لحقة – إلى الكلمة الصلية حتى يتم مواءمة اسأتخدامها في‬
‫موقعها من الجملة‪ .‬ولذلك فهي تعتبر أكثر من كلمة واحدة‪ ،‬وإن بدت في ظاهرها كلمة واحدة‪ .‬ومن هنا‬
‫فل داعي للصرار على ترجمتها بكلمة واحدة مرادفة في اللغة العربية‪ .‬وبذلك تكون الترجمة الدقيقة‬
‫للكلمة السأابقة هي‪ " :‬التحول للقطاع الخاص "‪ .‬وكذلك كلمة ‪ Islamization‬التي يمكن ترجمتها‪" :‬‬
‫تطبيق الشريعة السألمية "‪ .‬وغير ذلك كثير مما يمكن القياس عليه‪.‬‬

‫ثاني عشر‪ :‬اسأتخدام نفس المفاهيم التي يريد الغرب ترويجها وشيوعها عند الترجمة‪ .‬فمثل عند كتابة‬
‫الغرب لما يدور من صراع بين الفلسأطينيين والسأرائيليين‪ ،‬يقولون‪.Israel and the Palestinians :‬‬
‫فهم يريدون أن يسأتقر في ذهن القارئ أن إسأرائيل هي دولة لها كيان قائم‪ ،‬أما الفلسأطينيون فهم أفراد بل‬
‫دولة‪ .‬ولذلك فعلينا نحن حين نترجم‪ ،‬أن نقول " الفلسأطينيون والسأرائيليون "‪ ،‬أو أن نقول‪ " :‬فلسأطين‬
‫وإسأرائيل "‪ ،‬ل أن نقع فيما يريدونه أن يسأتقر في أذهاننا‪ ،‬فنقول‪ " :‬إسأرائيل والفلسأطينيون "‪.‬‬

‫هذه كانت أمثلة من بعض الخطاء الشائعة في الترجمة إلى العربية‪ ،‬ولكن ليسأت حصرا لها‪ .‬وسأوف‬
‫نوالي بحث هذا الموضوع إن قدر ال وأعان‪.‬‬

1.4 The role of the TRC and ‫دور هيئة تانظيم‬

The role of the TRC is to implement Government ‫والنفاذ‬
universal service and universal access policy.

The universal service shall be the Basic Public

1.6.2 Affordability

Eman, who had declared herself a
Muslim at the court three days ago
and got married to a Muslim

met with Mrs. Eman, who was
accompanied by the female
missionaries Jennifer and Basma
from Qatar Center for Introducing
(People) to Islam, and she told us
about her journey from error to
true guidance. She said:
"My name was Lynn. I was
married to a lip-service Muslim.
We had three children: Hamid-
Daniai and Zakariah. He did not
encourage me to embrace Islam
although I was very fond of it for
eleven years. And, we divorced.
That period of time helped me
read all about Islam and be
introduced to the Islamic rituals
and devotions. I lived all my life in
Canada until God secured for me
a virtuous and true Muslim
husband who helped me embrace
the new religion. Thus, I began a
new life with a Muslim husband
and came to Qatar where I have
stayed for four weeks. I will leave
for Canada again to bring my
children and live here in an
atmosphere of family union and
true fraternal harmony which I

As for my beginnings with Islam, ‫بدايتي في الدين فقد هــداني الــ‬

God has led me to embrace Islam
through my husband, who chose
for me the name Eman (Faith) so
that God may consolidate my
determination and spiritual
powers. For the last six months, I
have felt how Islam is deeply
rooted in me and therefore
decided to declare my embrace of
Islam. I was Catholic in origin, and
my family did not object to my
conversion. They told me "Since
you are wise, you are free. You
know where your good lies and
you know how much you are able
and determined." Even my eight-
year old son kept watching me
while I was praying, fasting and
performing night prayers. He
fasted with me last Ramadan.
Thank God, today I can face the
world with a challenge inside me
because God has implanted in my
depths tranquility and relief."
With regard to the September
events, Eman said that these did
not make her reluctant to embrace
Islam. "On the contrary", said she.
"It raised in me several questions
about the distortion of the image of
Islam by linking it to terrorism. This
made me much more tenacious
and gave me the feeling at that
moment that Islam is 'Truth'. Even
my son Hamid was criticized for
having such a 'strange' name, on
the assumption that it is linked with
terrorism. The non-stop criticism
and pressure on us, however,
made me more willing to declare

The First Alphabet ‫الولى‬

The credit for devising the first real
alphabet goes to the Phoenicians.
Phoenicia was the coastal territory
of the area which we now call Syria
and Lebanon. The Phoenicians –
or the Canaanites as they called
themselves – lived on commerce
along the coasts of the
Mediterranean. They left us no
poetry or prose works but records
of business transactions and
inventories of natural resources.
Papyrus from Egypt was one of the
things in which they traded.

Merchants from Byblos, the ‫التجار من مدينة بيبلوس ) التى‬

religious capital of Phoenicia, " ‫الغريق من اسأمها كلمة " كتاب‬
( which gave the Greeks their ‫( وهى العاصمة الدينية‬
name for " book " / from which the
word " book " in Greek was derived
) bought papyrus and resold it to
other peoples in the Middle East. In
doing this, they learnt how to use
Egyptian characters, but it would
be wrong to say that the
Phoenician alphabet directly
derives from the Egyptian way of
writing, other elements must have
played their part.
The Phoenicians may have been
influenced by the way of writing
used by the people of Crete island
which was on their trading routes.
There is a similarity between
Cretan and Phoenician symbols,
but it may also be true that the
Phoenicians borrowed from the
Cuneiform handwriting used by the ‫الشرق الدنى غير المطلة على‬
inland peoples of the Near East.
The two Phoenician cities of Tyre
and Sidon devised a different style
of writing and slightly different
alphabet. Inland tribes used the
alphabet of Tyre. After the Trojan .‫البعيدة عن البحر أبجدية صور‬
wars, the Greeks borrowed it. It
probably came into existence in
about the 12th century b.c. when
Tyre had great importance in the
Mediterranean world. The alphabet
consisted of consonants only. As
for vowels, they were left to the
reader to add.
When it was taken by the Greeks,
they found it necessary to use
vowel symbols to avoid confusion,
hence, they adapted some of the
original consonants to suit that
purpose. They also added some
letters of their own invention and
produced an alphabet of 24 letters.
The very word "alphabet" itself is
derived directly from the first two

As a nation, we do not tempt to
show our feelings. We have all
been taught at school that
enthusiasm is a bad conduct. We
prefer to hide our emotions. We are
almost ashamed of them and are
still more ashamed of anyone who
exhibits them without restraint. It
seems that reticence is a proof of
power, and instinctively we admire
it. We have even become a little
suspicious of orators. The value of
action is enhanced if it is not
accompanied by words. Many
great men of action were practically
inarticulate / unable to express.
Sentiments of adoration or anguish
are not for the public ear.
Exaggerated expression of feelings
does not appeal to us. Hence, we
assume the cloak and mask of
indifference, lack of feeling, and
lethargy. Underneath, you will find
profound feelings, but they must be
concealed. Moreover, we are silent
people because we are
temperamentally phlegmatic and
realize the inadequacy of words in
certain situations.
One can travel in a crowded
railway-carriage, or go in a jammed
/ packed tube lift without hearing a
sound uttered. I doubt if this would
be possible in any other country.
Who had ever traveled in a railway-
carriage abroad, and there was
continued silence ? It is not
unfriendliness on our part or
unsociability nor are we dull and
stupid. It is partially shyness,
partially diffidence, partially
reluctance to go through the
experience of intercourse with
strangers, partially defective
powers of expression, and perhaps
partially laziness too.

Birthplace of Man
It was held for many years to be
most likely that the first species of
mankind had originated in Asia,
perhaps in the region along the
southern slopes of the Himalayas.
But, it is now generally agreed that ‫المتفق عليه الن بوجه عام هو أن‬
the African continent was the
birthplace of human race.
Hence, the opening of human
history must start with showing
how creatures whose human and
simian characteristics were to a
great extent parallel, lived in Africa
and gave rise to the first creatures
which could be considered human
from their bodily characteristics
and their ability to shape stone and
wood to suit their purposes.
Here, the dawn of culture emerged
– the beginning of that enormous
creativity ; varied materially,
intellectually, and spiritually that
was achieved by the mind of man
as it struggled to resist, dominate,
understand, enjoy, and decorate
the cruel natural world surrounding
him. It will appear that soon after
the appearance of man and the
beginning of tool-making, a group
of human race moved into Eastern
Asia, where they established a
centre of physical and cultural
evolution.
In fact, we will find that from very
early times, two great cultural
traditions have to appear ; one of
which appeared in Eastern Asia,
the other in Africa, then they met
with many and different branches
along wide extensive borders
