PRAYER AND LOVE

Intro:
- What are the commonly PAIRED words or things?
Bread and butter
Adam and Eve
Bricks and mortar
Null and void
Pork and beans
Cause and effect
Rain or shine
Salt and pepper
Sweet and sour
Coat and tie
Jack and jill
- How about pag sinabing prayer? Anong naiisip nyo? _______________
- Today I want to talk about Prayer and LOVE.
- Bakit dapat lagyan natin ng love ang panalangin, or anything we do for that matter?
 It is because LOVE NEVER FAILS. (1 Cor. 13:8)
 and when there is love you know you have done the greatest for them (1 Cor 13:13)

- my grandmother died at the age of 96, SHE WAS A HOUSEWIFE EVER SINCE.
- And it was quite a challenge for her during the last days. She was sickly and was often brought
to the hospital.
- I was one who took care of her because we live in the same house.
- She would often miss her children since they rarely visit. Tuwing may occasion lang or holiday
like Christmas and her birthday.
- Nevertheless, even though she was struggling because of her condition, I NEVER HEARD HER SAY
“MGA WALA KAYONG UTANG NA LOOB, INALAGAAN AT PINAGSILBIHAN KO KAYO TAPOS HINDI
MANLANG KAYO MAKABISITA SA AKIN.”
- I never heard her na magbilang ng lahat ng nagawa para sa pamilya nya.
- Kung nandyan sila salamat, kung wala hindi din naman sya nag dedemand.
- But you know that she is happy pag nandyan ang family nya, mas lumalakas sya.
 - Nakita ko that love indeed “does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it
is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs” (1 Cor 13:5)

- Impliedly included in that LOVE DOES NOT COUNT THE GOOD THINGS IT HAS DONE TO OTHER.
BUT IT JUST CONTINUES TO GIVE LOVE AND DOES GOOD WORKS.

- As we pray we have to be the same:

 We may have been praying for that one disciple na bumait or yung family natin to be saved
since January 1 2018, Ngayon magtatapos na ang 2018 at hindi pa rin nangyayari yan, anung
response natin?
 Do we just lose the hope na titino pa sya? na gagaling pa ang family member nyo na may
sakit? Na aahon pa sa hirap ang buhay?

- Now that 2018 is ending, pwede kasing when you look back ma-discourage ka kasi ang daming
hindi nangyari, or meron mang nangyari hindi naman magaganda…Lord nag pray naman ako
pero bakit???? Bakit??? Sabi nga ni Bishop di ba.. We don’t know but we know the One who
knows.

Ngayong 2019 lagyan pa natin lalo ng pagmamahal ang ating mga panalangin because love has a
characteristic na It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always
perseveres.

1 Corinthians 13 New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues [a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I
am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of
prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a
faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give
all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may
boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily
angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but
rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where
there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass
away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when
completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I
talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I
became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see
only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in
part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of

these is love.

A Prayer with love

- John 17:15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you
protect them from the evil one.

- we are not with them 24/7 but our prayers for them will.
