I am me.

I am the one

who speaks up in the face of adversity;

who​ talks back ​despite wisdom with age —

getting tossed around for standing up,

and is supposed to act like everything is ​okay.

Who sometimes wishes he had just stayed quiet,

but is happy with the fact that his voice was heard.

Who walks with head held high

despite the bruises that clutter it.
