First Fortnightly Executive Meeting

Meeting was called to order by Mr. Wayne Jones (Jnr.) at 8:01 pm

Silent Prayer

Formalization of the Club

Registration with respective government bodies

 Respective Forms for registration are to be collected from the Social Development
Corporation during the week of October 10-16 by Mr. Wayne Jones (Jnr.)
 Documentation of meetings, agendas, communication and completed projects will be done
by Ms. Keri-Ann Patterson via. hard copy as well as soft copy.
 The Construction of the constitution will be done by Ms. Keri-Ann Patterson and will be
reviewed by all members of the Executive body of the Hellshire Heights Youth Club.
 A general election will be held within a year after the Club has been properly formalized and
projects have commenced.
 A recurring Executive meeting date has been set to the second Sunday of each month.
 It has been decided by the executive that the office space that shall be utilized will be
located in the Hellshire Heights Community Centre Library.
Major Projects

1. Painting of the Community Centre (This has already been done)


2. Road Repair (This has already been done)
3. Library Restoration
4. Adopting Eden Gardens
5. Obtaining garbage collection bins
6. Placing signs at respective areas of the Community eg. Falcon Gardens
7. Conducting a leadership workship
8. Hellshire Togetherness concert

Partnerships : Working with surrounding social groups

- Mr. Wayne Jones Jnr. is to acquire information from the Social Development Corporation as
it relates to the neighbouring social groups and possible partnerships.
- Known neighbouring organizations include:
o Hellshire Heights Home Owners’ Association
o Kiwanis Hellshire
o All Hellshire Association
o 100 Man Police Station Community Policing Group
o Social Development Corporation
o National Centre for Youth Development

Club T-Shirts

Club T-shirts are to be worn by the Executive body at all events and will differ from member shirts to
facilitate easy identification.

 Mr. Brian Hayden will be following up on the design and production of these shirts.

The first General Meeting of the Hellshire Heights Youth Club will be held on the 24 th October, 2010.

o At this meeting, Cpl Dillon from the Community Service Branch of the Community Policing
Group is expected to give a presentation to the Youth Club.
o A book collection drive will be held commencing on the 30 th October, 2010. This is to be
announced at the General Meeting.

The next fundraiser to be held is carwash aimed at garnering funds for the Club Projects. This will be
held on the 27th November, 2010. Refreshments will be on sale at the tuck-shop.
Eden Gardens
This is the name given to the park area at the entrance of the Community by the Hellshire
Heights Youth Club. This shall be formalized after restoration of the park has begun.

To be placed in this park area:

 Wooden benches and tables


 See-saw
 Garbage bins
 Notice Board and Mailbox
 Signs

The grass is also to be cut and maintained regularly.
