Top 9 Organizations That Do Conservation Efforts in


Lehigh Valley

Who is helping the Lehigh Valley get better? Who can you go to get
involved with conservation in your community? We have the lists
here. We are going down the line of the top organizations. Let’s get
to it.!

1.Lehigh Community Foundation
The Lehigh Community Foundation is a charitable organization that provides social
services that matter to the community. This company provides community awareness and well
and volunteer services for the betterment of the community. They do a vast amount of work
throughout the Lehigh Valley to make it a better place. This company provides grant programs
for projects dealing with cleaning up the community. This clean up includes cleaning up the
water, cleaning trash from the river, and saving natural habitats. For this reason, Lehigh
Community Foundation has made our list at Wells & Associates Inc.

2. Lehigh Gap Nature Center


The Lehigh Nature Center is very concentrated in its effort on conservation. They focus
primarily on natural habitats and preservation of wildlife. This company does relocation efforts
and partake in rescuing, when able. They focus many of their efforts on the Lehigh river through
means of clean up and protesting efforts. This company also provides different education
systems to inform communities on what they do is so important. The company is focused on
making the environment better and better for wildlife that use the surroundings as a natural
habitat. Wells & Associates is proud to add this to our list of top companies.

3. Get out Lehigh Valley


Get out Lehigh Valley is a little different from the rest. This is not a company or
organization. It is, however, encompassed under the umbrella of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
It is a program started by the LVHN for families to get out and enjoy different activities that
nature has to offer. These activities include gardening and exploring different parks trails. This
program main objective is to provide exercise, while helping the environment. The program’s
main goal is to promote physical health. However, they are promoting conservation acts through
means of exercise. They are killing two birds with one stone. For this reason, Wells & Associates
feel that this program is worthy of our list.

4. Lehigh Valley Organic Growers Inc.


The Lehigh Valley Organic Growers Inc. is a consultancy organization specializing in
organic goods. They work with companies in production, manufacturing, and growers and
governmental agencies such as the USDA. This company overseas and certifies the authenticity
of organic goods. They work with growers and productions to ensure better practices on
producing the best goods at the least cost of the environment. This made us feel that they deserve
to be on this list; they are an international company. There are branches in the Lehigh Valley.

5. Wildlands Conservancy
The Wildlands Conservancy is an organization whose goal is to educate the community
on the importance of healthy environments. They want to protect natural environments such as
waterways and habitats. This company promotes and advocates for healthy living through
avenues of sustainable living. They protect environmentally critical areas such as the Lehigh
River. This company is a great company for conservation efforts. For this reason, we feel it
should definitely be on our list.

6. Appalachian Mountain Club


The Appalachian Mountain Club is a non-profit organization that focuses on the upkeep
and preservation of trails. They care for over 1800 miles of trail along the Appalachian trail.
They cover 350 miles of the Appalachian Trail. They also do proactive work such as protecting
the trails. They maintain the trails as well and educate the youth on the importance of trails. The
educate the youth and get kids outside and involved to help be more proactive. This company
makes many efforts, and therefore Wells & Associates feels it should be added to the list.

7. Alliance for Sustainable Communities


The Alliance for Sustainable Communities is a company that focuses on the promotion of
sustainable living. These efforts are through water pollution prevention, social justice, eating
healthy, etc. This company believes in respecting the environment and promoting those practices
to expand the community’s knowledge. They protect natural habitats and promote participation
to engage the community. They also are all about supporting local economy. Some of the local
economy include things like locally grown food instead of imported food. They promote healthy
living in every aspect of their organization.

8.The Nature Conservancy


The Nature Conservancy focuses on protecting natural resources. This includes
farmlands, native forests, urban green lands and things of that nature. They do also support
outdoor recreation, including hunting. Many may disagree with this aspect, but the organization
does great work as for as conservation for the land is concerned. This company also looks into
being proactive and getting the youth involved. They want the youth more involved to help them
towards the future.

9. Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley


The Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley has an array of opportunities for conservation.
This organization doesn’t focus primarily on conservation effort. It encompasses all types of
different volunteer programs. To focus in specifically on conservation, they have programs as
well as fundraisers to promote good environmental health. These programs range from volunteer
walks to trash pickup off the roads to land-scaping. The list goes on. This company sometimes
provides volunteers to other organizations. Some might be on this list. For this reason, we here at
Wells & Associates feel this was worthy of our list.
